Kevan Heathcote This statue of a Kangaroo is located on the hill at the Western end of Steinton Street. See if you can find it. The statue was was commissioned by one of the fathers of Manly , Henry Gilbert Smith, and was sculpted by Peter Pickering in 1856 There are some who say this statue was the inspiration for the book Kangaroo, which was written by D H Lawrence in the early 1920’s after a trip by tram from Manly to Collaroy along Pittwater Road.

Terese Hayward Dreamtime Gallery combines the display of fine Indigenous art for sale with a gallery shop of everything from jewellery, books and homewares. It’s always interesting to see new items each week. We have cushions and one of the silk woven textiles displayed under our glass coffee table.

Lisa H This was such an incredible experience. I went in with a little bit of disbelief and came out a believer. Terry was a great guy but a lot of history and we were very intrigued. A lot of us experienced some feelings which I don’t want to spoil the tour for anyone else, but go ahead and book this take the ferry over to Manly and an Uber up to this, and it would be a very, very enjoyable and informative evening.

Poedi Sarah-Marie Very expensive shopping. That said, the atmosphere is great! If you go there to enjoy the beach, dont hesitate, its a change from boundy and its just as nice.

Antoni Seegers Had so much fun, paid for 2 hours but 1 hour is heaps. Kids enjoyed it heaps. Great family activity and a short stroll to the wharf for an ice cream.
