Memorial Park

Charlotte Lam This is a lovely tree-filled park at the top of the hill above Parramatta River. There is a wonderful playground with water pump and water course, plus swings & great play equipment that is suitable for smaller and bigger kids. Ample picnic tables and the covered table areas can be booked (to reserve them for parties etc) through Ryde Council. Plenty of birds around the park make it great for bird spotting. It’s just a short walk down the hill to the river too. Toilet block was small but clean (it’s over towards the railway line area of the park).

Darvall Park

Sun Joy Darvall Park is a hidden gem in the suburbs, offering a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of the Ryde. The park is well-maintained, with lush greenery, tall eucalyptus trees, and plenty of open space for relaxation. One of the highlights of Darvall Park is its walking trails, which are perfect for a leisurely stroll or a refreshing jog. The trails wind through beautiful bushland, making it a great spot for nature lovers and bird watchers. There’s also a playground for kids and picnic areas with benches, making it an ideal place for families to enjoy a day outdoors. While the park is generally quiet and serene, it can get a bit muddy after rain, so wearing proper footwear is recommended. Parking is available nearby, but it might be limited during peak hours. Overall, Darvall Park is a wonderful place to unwind, connect with nature, and enjoy some fresh air. Whether you’re looking for a peaceful walk or a picnic spot, this park is definitely worth a visit.
