Keely Hassell Sam did my wedding hair and makeup and she was absolutely incredible. She was so calming, professional, and super friendly, which made the whole getting-ready experience relaxed and enjoyable for me and my girls. The makeup and hair survived happy tears and dancing, and I felt like the best version of myself on my wedding day. I genuinely cant recommend her enough!!

Leanne van Rensburg Sam is a great choice for an enhanced natural look for brides and bridesmaids. Shes very organised and has a great booking platform where you can keep track of bookings and payments. She worked with my idea, gave some advice on how to change it so it lasts the day and she accommodated the pretty dried flower hairpins I bought for my hair. Shes on time, works with your schedule and makes sure the hair and makeup experience is calm and runs smoothly. We were 1 bride, 2 bridesmaids and a flower girl - we all looked great. I also recommend doing the trial (at least for the bride) with Sam, this helps you visualise how youll look on the day and helps the actual day run very smoothly as you both already know what you like and how your makeup and hair behaves. Lisa Brown Sam was an EASY choice for makeup on my wedding day. She has been doing my brows, lashes and makeup for years. I keep returning because of the amazing job she does. Sam did an incredible job making sure my makeup was exactly what I asked for. Sam had the ability to create a look from natural all the way to full glam. I did not book Sam for hair ONLY because my cousins own a hair salon. If I did not have my cousins, I would have booked Sam for hair as well!! Even though she wasnt booked for hair, she went above and beyond to help out after the hairdressers had left and my hair dropped due to humidity. She also made sure my veil was secure! Sam, I cannot thank you enough for making me look so beautiful on my wedding day!

Deniell Croker I can not rave enough about Courtney. After 4 years of hairdresser hunting I’ve hit the jackpot. So ladies if you have short hair and having a hard time getting it done right you MUST visit Courtney. She listened to my requests and concerns, looked at the examples I showed her and then cut my hair beautifully adding her own little flair. The head massage was so good I had head spins when I got up. Don’t waste hundreds on other hairdressers, cut,wash and massage for $52! The head massage alone was worth it. Courtney is an absolute asset to the business and a must for us women struggling with the short hair dilemma. From a purely business perspective some might find the music a little loud and a chair with adjustable back rest at the wash station would make the experience a little better.

Tyler Sands I had a fantastic experience at Wilks Cuts and it definitely exceeded my expectations. I had a few questions and concerns regarding the hairstyle I wanted and the booking process, which his team were responsive and very helpful about. Bromley was already ready by the time I had arrived for my haircut 5 minutes early. Bromley was attentive and asked what I exactly wanted before proceeding. One thing I really appreciate is that he listens and will deliver the results you want. He did a proper job and I am happy with how he cut my hair. Jeanné Abrie Talk about The grinch that stole Christmas…Their new system is quite shocking and takes your money and there’s no room for making a mistake. So make sure you get your booking perfect the first time or you’ll lose your money. I phoned them first and was pushed to make a booking on Google and couldn’t make the appointment via a phone call. So I went to Google and I paid a deposit. I made the booking for 12:30 instead of 13:30. It was an honest mistake and finger error. When we arrived at 13:30 they said it’s a no show and we lost our deposit. We asked to reschedule, keep the deposit of $30 (even willing to come back another day) and the owner, Brom Wilks just flat out refused!! He stated he phoned me and unfortunately I had to put a baby and a little toddler to bed so I missed his call. But unfortunately he said he had someone waiting for 30min doing nothing. Seriously, Brom, it’s a bad excuse considering that you have paid the labour for the duration of this day when staff are fully booked and already working for the rest of the arvo (I’m sure this person’s labour was covered). I practically begged him to reconsider seeing that it really was an honest mistake but he’s answer is no. Being so unwielding is going to make your business harder in such a small community. Please note that NOWHERE ON THE RECEIPT DOES IT STATE A TIME THAT BOOKING WAS MADE. Nor on Google does it confirm your booking time even though it says you have paid. Look at my photos attached of what I’ve received and this is all I received. I have been to this barber a couple of times and have convinced multiple friends to use them so that we support local. I have without a doubt given them quite a few extra dollars in business over and above my own son and husband’s haircuts. He couldn’t spare my $30 in the Christmas spirit. It was just an arrogant response and a flat out no. I won’t support your business again and will spread the word.

Anastasia Dawes After going to my usual hairdresser for years over in Frenchs Forest and getting the worst haircut ever the other day, I called into Mel’s to see if they could fix up my haircut and was greeted with a smile. The ladies are very friendly and helpful and I was able to get in in the afternoon. A huge shout out to Emily who did an amazing job. I just love what she did. So happy with the new haircut.

Julie Kay Ryan I booked for first appointment with Mel’s salon in Berowra and asked for a senior stylist. My previous hairdressing experiences with other salons have been met with ‘ Trust me’ ! To which have never returned after the trust was obliterated EXCEPT I had the wonderful experience with Fiona who said ‘Trust me’ and sure enough, Gold star fantastic colour and cut. I’m so happy I found a forever hairdresser who did an amazing job on my foils, highlighting and Sam blow drying. Thank you Fiona, your new client forever !

Cristina Hopwood It is hard to find a good hairdresser anywhere and I can be very picky. I decided to give Mel’s Hair and Beauty a go and each time I walked in to enquirer or make an appointment I was greeted with a smile. In the two times that I have had my hair done by two different staff members, they both were very professional, welcoming and was offered a drink. They did an AMAZING! Job on my hair. I walked out feeling like a younger me. Thank you so much ladies for doing such a great job and providing a great service. I will be coming back for all my hair needs. Thank you again.

Teona Whealing Mel, Emily and Fiona are all best of the best hairdressers you will ever encounter in Sydney! The Quality of their service is superb, prices are very affordable and atmosphere is so positive that once you visit them, you won’t stop going back….

Sam Service here is exceptional. All the staff were very polite,friendly and attentive but special shout out goes out to the young gentleman who served us, unfortunately I did not get his name. The food was really good,everything was freshly made,generous portion of chips and both the burgers and steak sandwiches were top notch.

Arz Eats Great local Cafe with excellent service, food and prices. Its usually busy when I walk past so thats how you know its good. I ordered the CoHo burger, I was happy with the taste and quality. Its clean tasting and not overly processed. The other dish was the Gyros, Id serve it wrapped with fries but otherwise it was nice! Service is friendly and the cafe is convenient located at the frontnof Berowra shopping village. Definitely prefer this type of cafe over those fancy appearing but meh quality food places. Ill be back!

Xanadu Ti Tree In 2019 - Not a bad spot. Food was pretty tasty, I enjoyed the eggs Benedict. The place was pretty busy, but service was reasonable. Nice bright interior. Not bad. I mean it’s nothing crazy amazing, but pretty good for Berowra. In 2024 - came for lunch and sadly the food has seemed to have dropped in quality quite a bit. We had the chicken gyros and the mushroom “taco”. Honestly, while I appreciate having one marked vegan option on the menu, it was a badly flavoured, hugely cabbage packed mess served on a katoomba brand roti from Coles, not a taco. Staff are lovely, especially the new young waitresses who was trying very hard. Alas, I think we won’t be back.

LIFE L1K3 Lovely staff, boss is kind to customers. The $11 for a bacon and egg roll and large coffee is a great deal, though I asked if I could get it as a small with the same shots, which they did with no extra charge. Male barista with mid length curley brown hair was wonderful. The manager clearly cared about his staff, and chef was always making funny jokes.

SushiMi First Time Customer: Good place for a cup of coffee, brekky, tea or lunch. Quaint and nice. Friendly staff. Food was amazing although the wait time was quiet long but was worth it for me. I ordered the pancakes and it was so good! So light and fluffy and everything just tasted amazing together.

Michael Bradley I visit at least four times a week , when Im in need of a shop , do some banking at the post office or feeling like treating myself to a little indulgence @ Michels Patisserie or Bakers Delight. Great choice of cuisine Thai , seafood & a fab pizzeria. Feeling up to watching a movie , grab one at the video easy Kiosk machine great food , great $prices , a great place

Qt Clan Really nice place to hang out with the boys, tables are well kept. Bread from bakers delight is good but when we asked for a loaf of bread that’s not sliced, a girl named Jess Lowe still sliced it for us which made us pretty annoyed so that’s a bit of a let down for Bakers Delight. Coles got great workers but not the greatest quality ovens but the cakes a pretty good. Hot chips from the Takeaway shop a decent, alright price but long wait because all the boys are hungry and we can’t wait any longer for our chips. Big ups Bakers Delight for giving us a firemen’s hat, really appreciated. But anyways great place to visit, amazing tourist attraction for people coming from overseas.

Timothy Hawthorne Has most of what you need for your weekly shop. It has a couple of cafes, a bakers delight for sweet and savoury treats, and a decent sushi shop. Not a bad local plaza. The outdoor carpark is god awful though and I am surprised it was approved by council. If you dont want to risk mounting curbs and and scraping other cars I would suggest the underground parking.

D Small, average. Its a bit sad that Coles is its best feature. Theres a park nearby for dogs. I feel as though the pedestrian crossing in the car park isnt as visible as it should be, or drivers dont care, but I dont feel safe crossing it when there are cars coming around corners.

Jim Mitchell Fairly small local shopping centre. Coles is the main draw but it also has most of the basics - butcher, baker, newsagent, flowers, bottle-shop, hairdresser, food etc. The centre also has medical and dental practices and related services. Parking is usually good and includes a single level underground car park which always seems to have space.

Mitra Mirzaei We have recently moved to the area and started attending the amazing messy plays at this club. We have now become members and enjoy the food everytime we visit. All staff are pretty nice and lovely too. Great local vibe

Ric Cook Shelves are always empty. The kids are generally good with customers but the senior staff are absolutely terrible. We live in the suburb but avoid this Coles at all costs.

Mateki Payne Every time I buy something from here, its either rotten or mouldy. Bread, not fresh. Fruit, especially berries are not good when purchased from here.

alan m Staff are friendly and nice. However, this store constantly has shortages of various items regardless of the time of day. Fruit & veg better off elsewhere, seafood looks old & off. I also suspect that the store is putting new use-by tags on old loaves of bread. Bread so often goes stale after one day.

kate moore The service here was not good at all. I requested a design which the owner said she could do. The acrylics that she did were lumpy and un even. The lady told me she couldn’t do the design after attempting because they were too short even though she assured me she could do them. The owner also told me that because I didn’t have an appointment that’s why the service was different. Very unsatisfied.

Narissa Fry The ladies that run this business are lovely. They listened to what I wanted and were super flexible with affordable prices. The only downside is there is only two of them so sometimes there can be longer than usual wait times but the service and attention to detail is definitely worth it. Every pedicure also gets a lovely calf massage. Will be recommending this place to everyone. Very happy with my whole experience.

Rosie The best nail salon in Sydney! Kathy (owner) is such a gem and always makes me feel so welcome! Such hospitable staff and very gentle too! I always look forward to visiting here and each time I walk out so happy! Good prices, wonderful long lasting nails and lovely atmosphere! Highly recommend!

Sophie Wagland All my nails were miss shaped and crooked, and they had giant chucks of glue on the underside of my nails which were stuck to my fingers. They also made my finger bleed as the filing was so ruff and they filed the skin off my finger.

suzedav Had a full set of acrylics put on yesterday which turned out like ski jumps with no apex to the nail bed - went back today to enquire into having them fixed and was met by the irate manager - as a local I wanted to support a local business but she was so aggressive and disrespectful that I will never return - $65 down the drain and a waste of time. Very disappointing.

Merann Bartle Service is consistently good, my mum has complicated requirements and I can call them and they will get her scripts ready for collection. If cheapest possible prices is what you need then go elsewhere however if you want a dedicated team who get to know their customers and the convenience of a local chemist I recommend Berowra Village Pharmacy. Opening hours are also good.

Shamila Haddad Don’t recommend this pharmacy unless you have to…. And you don’t have an option to travel to Hornsby. I purchased a medication double the price I got from Chemist Warehouse in Hornsby. It is very disappointing. As a resident in Berowra I wish I had access to a reasonable pharmacy not a place that get my medication way higher than a few kilometres away. If you have a choice try other pharmacies in Hornsby as what you get here may be shockingly higher.

Christian Vimpany I cannot express how thankful I am for Berowra Pharmacy. I was unable to get a script filled for vyvance, due to shortages, and no supply in the hunter / central coast area, however the staff were exceptional and had some of the only supply, even holding it while I drove the 1+ hour to collect. Everyone was super friendly and was in and out super quickly. Thank you to all the staff for helping out!

Lorraine LeBlang Waited 30+ minutes whilst the pharmacist filled 3 scripts for me. The whole time he was talking to a staff member out of my view. I asked was there a problem and was told he had to count 60 tablets. I asked when he worked so I could avoid him and was told randomly, I can get better service elsewhere. Chris Le Blang.

Kerry Woods Dont trust this pharmacy or its staff. I asked for advice and they gave me the wrong medicine, then refused to change it. Finally, Caroline (hopeless excuse for a pharmacist) relinquished and said she take compassion on me. I DONT WANT YOUR COMPASSION, I want the medicine I asked for in the first place. If you or your staff dont understand what you selling, then you have no business giving advice. Caroline made a point of humilating me in front of the other customers, when I protested about this, she turned her back and walked off - great customer service! Ignorant and rude!
