1 /5 NA NA: I occasionally use the Engadine Anytime gym when I’m working in the area, typically once or twice a week. Unfortunately, I’ve noticed a significant decline in the quality of this gym over time.
The recent “refurbishment” is deeply disappointing. It’s little more than a superficial facelift—barely more than a cosmetic touch-up. Aside from a glute machine and a few additional weight plates, there’s no real improvement. The old, worn-out equipment hasn’t been replaced, and much of it is falling apart.
However, the bigger problem is the overwhelming presence of school-aged kids. To be clear, I fully support young people getting into fitness, but the way this is handled here is a major issue. Most of them occupy machines or benches while endlessly scrolling on their phones, with little to no actual training taking place. During the evenings, it gets even worse—they gather in groups and monopolize equipment for 30 minutes or more at a time.
To make matters worse, many of these kids aren’t following basic gym etiquette. They’re not using towels, they’re bringing bags onto the gym floor, and they’re failing to wipe down equipment after use.
What’s even more frustrating is the lack of any visible action from the manager or owner. I’ve never seen anyone address these issues directly, nor are there any notices, signs, or messages on the screens to remind members to follow basic gym rules, be considerate, and avoid hoarding equipment.
Engadine Anytime could be a great gym, but these ongoing problems are turning it into a frustrating experience for anyone trying to work out seriously.
