1 /5 Andrew Seidel: I had a terrible experience with Betalli & Associates and would strongly advise against using their services. I engaged them six months ago to handle my tax affairs for multiple businesses. I had to chase them as deadlines with the tax office loomed for BAS, and they still hadnt submitted my returns. They finally submitted my BAS on the due date, only after I followed up with them. When I queried why they didnt have any questions for reconciling my records—something that had never happened before—Chris Betalli assured me everything was fine and they were satisfied with what was in there. As a result of it being filed at the last minute, I had no ability to transfer the funds in time (Daily transfer limits), causing me to lose my payment plan with the tax office. IAS submissions were usually done on the due day, or one to two days late. The tax office then tried to contact the accountants regarding my failed payment plan. Betallis never never returned their calls, leaving me to deal with the fallout, despite Betalli & Associates initially promising to handle such issues as part of their fees. Moreover, just a day before my annual tax return was due, they sent me a list of questions that needed answers so they could process the returns. This was far too late to provide the necessary information to meet the tax office deadlines. They didnt even ask for all the required details at that point. Their consistent tardiness was frustrating, and when I challenged them, their responses were dishonest. They suggested I should know what they needed, and been proactive in sending it to them in advance without being asked. After moving to a new accountant, it was confirmed that my bookkeeping for the last quarter, which I had previously queried with Chris (and he was responsible for) and been assured was fine, was not reconciled at all. Despite invoicing me for completion of this work, it was never done. I believe their is a legal term for that... Do not trust Betalli & Associates. They do not fulfil their service commitments and charge considerable fees for work they dont complete and get you into trouble with the ATO. Their response upon cancelling their services was extremely poor, trying to shift the blame onto me instead of taking responsibility for their shortcomings. One of the worst service experiences I have ever encountered.
