5 /5 Dorothy siu: We are so grateful to have had Mr Cardy Man’s support through the Cancer Council Pro Bono Program.
At the beginning of this journey, we were incredibly stressed and felt completely helpless. I didn’t know what to do or where to start. Our lives had been turned upside down, and it felt like there was no hope in sight—everything seemed out of control. Jack’s condition, the upcoming treatments and tests, and the overwhelming financial burden made it hard to breathe. Each day felt like a struggle just to keep going.
When I tried to navigate the Centrelink website, I felt completely lost. I didn’t know what we were eligible for or what programs might be able to help us. Then, through the Cancer Council, we were referred to financial counselling—and that’s when we met Cardy.
We can’t thank you enough for his patience, professionalism, and the way you explained everything to us in such a clear and supportive manner. From helping us understand income protection and TPD, to guiding us through the Centrelink welfare system, your support gave us a sense of direction and hope. It meant so much to know that someone was in our corner, helping us understand and take each step forward.
We truly appreciate that, despite his busy schedule, you made the time to listen to our concerns and offer thoughtful advice. His support has made a meaningful difference to us, and we simply can’t thank you enough.
