1 /5 Mandi Sara: Sadly after losing my mother in April 2022. It has taken nearly 7 months of chasing Northern Beaches Lawyers to process a simple Probate after they quoted me 6 weeks. It has cost me over $7,500 in legal fees so far for a basic probate/small estate. Still after all this time, I only have part of the funds and am left with no choice but to chase for the rest of the funds myself for fear of incurring more legal fees. It has caused me extensive distress and anguish, especially when in the depths of grief. So upsetting!!! Based on the response below, Im even more upset by the service provided. Its just confirmed for me that the extensive delays and extraordinary costs incurred were unnecessary. At no time did Northern Beaches Lawyers volunteer to me, in the interest of transparency, that I could take the Grant of Probate and manage the distribution of the funds myself. Had I known, I would definitely have proceeded on that basis and no doubt saved myself and my mothers estate thousands of dollars. Nor should it take 5 months of chasing, just to get the Grant of Probate. I still stand by the fact it should not take over 7 months and $7,500 to settle such a simple estate. Sadly, Im still left in the depths of grief, and even more devastated by the emotional trauma of this experience.
