5 /5 Bec Smith: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I went in to learn a rope climb… and ended up finding the best part of my day.
Two years ago, I signed up for a comp at rec having never done CrossFit before. I walked in to learn how to climb a rope and hoped for the best. what I thought would be a one-off turned into a daily commitment. I spend most of my life glued to a computer, yet rec has pushed me into the strongest, most capable version of myself. I now drive 30+ minutes every day to train there because nothing else compares…
The coaches are incredible athletes but humble, welcoming, and genuinely invested in helping people get better. Their ability to break down technical movements is epic and theyre so patient - I’m the slowest learner but somehow they never make that seem like an issue. Combined with programming that’s progressive, challenging, and built for longevity, you simply improve - at whatever pace life allows.
The members, the environment, the community - it all creates a place that makes you push, supports you, and makes hard work something you actually look forward to - literally my fave part of the day.
rec isn’t just a gym.
It’s where Ive become stronger, more capable (sometimes!) and more myself than I ever expected
