5 /5 Taryn Delaney: We stayed at Peats Bite for a long, lazy, luxurious weekend away for our wedding anniversary, and it was one of the best weekends we’ve ever had.
From the moment Jeff (owner and all ‘round legend) pulled the boat up to the jetty, we knew we were in for something special. Arriving by water gives it this instant feeling of escape, and the views over the Hawkesbury and the stylish venue itself is simply unreal. Proper “feel the serenity” stuff.
What really makes this place, though, is the people. It’s a true family business - Tanya leads the show on land, and you can feel her Midas touch in every detail. Nothing is rushed, nothing feels like a transaction. The long lunch rolls out at its own perfect pace, the styling, atmosphere, music, beverage curation (the service and experience list is endless) is spot-on without trying too hard, and every unbelievably delicious dish just lands with this effortless confidence.
The whole team is warm, down-to-earth, and genuinely SO good at what they do. No pretence, no attitude - just proper hospitality from people who clearly love the place they’ve created.
We stayed overnight, and waking up to the stillness of the river in the picture perfect grounds of Peats was something else. Quiet, peaceful, and exactly what we needed, even the breakfast was out of this world!
We left saying it was one of the best weekends of our lives. If you’re considering Peats Bite, just book it. It’s the kind of place that stays with you long after you’ve left.
