1 /5 Ana Napier: Elisa saw my mother and I for pre booked manicures and eyelash/eyebrow tints back at the beginning of February. Unfortunately she overpromised taking on two clients at once (we were not aware this would be the situation when we booked, we assumed she had another staff member) and what we ended up with was one manicure between us, and chemical burn on my eyes. I have sent the last month trying to decide if I would write this as I rarely write negative reviews but I wanted to put my experience here so this never happens to anyone else.
Elisa left me with an eyelash/eyebrow tint developing for over 30 mins while she went to treat my mum. Unfortunately, she left the dye in so long (the recommended time frame is 10-15 minutes!) I developed severe irritation and chemical burns that I have had ongoing treatments for over a month. I had to see an opthamologist twice and pay several hundred dollars in medical appointments and medications.
This was my first “time to myself” since my second baby was born a few months ago and I am incredibly disappointed that my experience was marred by injury. As a mother of two young children, I do not often put myself first and it felt very upsetting to feel forgotten. For someone who touts themselves as an expert in their field, this should not have happened.
I wrote to Elisa to let her know what had happened so that this will never happen to anyone else in the future. She responded that she was sorry I was experiencing irritation and hoped I had a quick recovery. No apology for her mistake, no offer to refund, cover medical costs or any assurances that she will have safety measures in place so this doesn’t happen to anyone else. I then wrote to her after the completion of treatments and appointments with a request for a refund and to cover my medical fees, which amounted to almost $500. She has now launched an insurance claim which is estimated to take 12 months.
I will not be returning, and would not recommend this business to anyone.
