1 /5 Laura Osgood: Really disappointed with our experience here.
I put my wedding band, engagement ring and anniversary band in for cleaning and rhodium plating.
Got them back extremely fast, and they looked good. A week or so later, a diamond had fallen out of my anniversary band. I contacted the store and they say they would repair it for $120.
Again, got the ring back nice and quick, and nothing else was mentioned. Fast forward a few weeks later and the same diamond I have paid for them to replace has come out again.
I contacted the store via email, and was told that they would replace it for free, if it was in the same area as the one they replaced, no problems, it was the exact same stone.
When we returned the ring to the shop, to be fixed.
The jeweller then advised that the band was not thick enough to house the diamonds, and it has cracked, causing the stone to fall out, so they would not be honouring their promise to fix for free, and in fact tried to upsell me into making a new band.
My concerns are, not once did the jeweller voice concerns about the integrity of the ring the first two times she had it in her store. And the ring was perfectly fine, until she touched it.
The jeweller quoted me $650 for a new band, with my own diamonds, when I could in fact get a brand new one for the same price.
I wasn’t going to bother with a review, but the more people I have spoken to about it, the more I have been convinced it is a necessary thing to do.
Really upset about the outcome, and I wish I never let this woman touch my jewellery.
