1 /5 Louise Steuart: I am so disappointed with the school holiday activity program as of today, Tuesday 9th April, 2025.
It involved three hours, at the cost of $35 per child, for my two grandchildren running amuck, something they could have done at home for free!!!
Until a parent complained, there were no organized activities, which resulted in my grand son becoming bored, as he needs structure to keep him interested, and began disrespecting one of the girls resulting in her complaining to me about him - good on you! He could have also done that at home with his sister, but the difference being I would have been aware of it and put a stop to it.
I wouldnt have thought any different, except we have come from the Sunshine Coast where my grandchildren used to go to the YMCA school holiday activities at Caloundra every school holidays .
The difference between the program at Caloundra and Victoria Point is like chalk and cheese.
At Caloundra, the children were divided into teams. They raced each other either through the trampolines, through the Ninja Circuit, across a circuit the first team being the winning team. The program was structured, the instructors were aware of all aspects of what was going on at all times, and were able to address safety concerns in real time.
The instructors at Victoria Point had no idea who left the area, or who injured themselves as the children kept coming up to me because the instructors at Victoria Point were too self absorbed in whatever.
It would be nice to be paid for three hours for just being a physical presence as they did very little else until the end and then only becausea complaint or two or three or four were made.
Until things change it is not worth the time or money!
