Bill Richardson A beautiful place to while away an afternoon, particularly in good weather. You can park about 3km from the point and either walk or take the shuttle ($12 return, $8 concession). There are some nice sandy walking trails, as well as the quarantine station.

Only minus - bus ticket to skip a long walk is $12! Very cheeky! However walking is anyway better! Just sad for family’s or visitors with disability.

Chris Bray Worth a journey down here just for the sheer history. This fort was responsible for the first commonwealth shots fired in both the first and second world war. The fort has lots to explore and the walk down to it is a reasonably easy going walk too. You can hire bikes and cycle down and there is a bus service, but no cars are allowed which is good. Although the fort itself is the main attraction there are many other little installations to explore at the same time, which probably would be viewed overall as part of the main fort. Sadly when we went it was impossible to progress further from the fort towards the actual point, but still the views are spectacular. Some great wildlife to see along the road too.

Erin Brown Lots to explore and see, very interesting history, loved the tunnels and that they were lit until 8pm, we were quite late having missed the last shuttle bus and still had heaps of time to walk in and back and explore. The reason we missed the bus however was because we went back to the info centre to see about hiring bikes as the signs were out at Gunners Cottage. We were disappointed to learn there were no bikes to hire that day as the info centre was unmanned. Please pack your signs away if this service isnt available!

Gamalath Thilina Fort Nepean is an incredible historical site, about a 3km walk from Gunners Cottage. Alternatively, you can take the shuttle that runs every 30 minutes from the Quarantine Center to Fort Nepean via Gunners Cottage. Tickets are $12 per adult, and kids ride free. The fort is a remarkable piece of history, and its impressive how well it has been preserved over the years. Unfortunately, the engine room was closed during my visit.

Mia Li A stunning and spectacular place where you can walk down to the sea from the beach or over the rocks. There are plenty of beautiful fish, and a large rock you can climb for a great view. The waves out at sea are strong — it’s also an amazing spot to watch the sunset.

Fiona C Just one of those gorgeous "secret" beaches. I love coming here with a book/picnic (take your rubbish with you!!!). Due to the choppy water and cliff faces, you really cant hear any other beach goers, and it is a serene little sound bubble. There are loads of nice nature trails too - bonus.

Preston M. The London Bridge Lookout is amazing! Watch out, it’s very windy, so I’d suggest a jumper. The beach is pristine and the water is wild! Definitely a recommended stop if you’re in the area. Plenty of parking and bathrooms, as well.

Alexandra If you’re seeking a place that offers both a stunning natural landscape and a peaceful retreat, the London Bridge Lookout Beach is a must-visit. The moment you step onto the sand, the vast, endless beach stretches out before you.

Nook Nook Best place of our trip to Mornington Peninsula. There are many local people coming here to play paragliding. Walking path to London Bridge viewpoint is within few mins.

Hikaru Beautiful place We must visit. Catching a shuttle bus is the easiest option. Rental bicycles are available at the information centre.

Mahisha Naidu A lovely place to walk and take in all the amazing views! We had so many breaks in between to just take in the sound of the ocean, the sea breeze and to click pictures to remember the kind of place we took a walk to! Highly recommended and once you reach the fort, dont forget to sit for a while and enjoy :) the other areas are locked out due to COVID but the walk was worth it!

Kerbray The remains of a bunkered concrete fortress that was completed in 1911, taking advantage of the long-distance firing range of the coastal defence guns into the bass strait. Some great views from this outpost and plenty of information boards to account for this history at this site.

Regan Turner Theres a lot to see and do here. Theres a bit of walking involved to see the rest of the park unless you have a bicycle. All the fortifications and tunnels are very interesting and have information boards. Well worth a visit.

Chris Bray A fascinating part of Australian history as well as being just a gorgeous place to visit. For a lot of early settlers this was their first experience of life in Australia and although the surrounding local scenery is spectacular, I can imagine that some of the conditions must have been more than a little confronting. It is worth allowing a couple of hours to walk around the entire area as there is a lot to see spread out over a large area. It would be a fantastic place to enjoy a picnic too with open lawns leading down to the sea.

Bill M A good place to check out on the walk to Fort Nepean, but not a lot of information available. A beautiful place, be sure to keep your eyes open for wildlife - I spotted a swamp wallaby just off the path.

Kerbray A relatively exposed gun battery with some superb views overlooking the bay entrance. This nest once housed Australias large hydro-pneumatic gun in Australia and apparently had a firing range of nearly 10km. This gun emplacement was abandoned in 1911, but the concrete structure still remains.

Ulyses Espiritu It would have been a great walk if it was not too windy. otherwise, beautiful place. Friendly on the knees. There is an option for a bus ride. We opted to walk and enjoy the scenery at our own pace. Bring some snacks, water and sunblock!!!

Fergus Zeglar “Zeg” We stopped at Eagles Nest as part of our National Park walking visit. Access via the sandy walking trail, alternatively, there is a shuttle bus that leaves from the quaratine station carpark. Great views from the small lookout located near the gun placement.

Johnno Page reviews Big walk to the top of a very windy hill to a great look out and one old dangerous building which was not far from there a old gun turret . This place is a bit out the way and a steep walk up but well worth the visit why you are here

Kerbray An exposed and quite windy lookout area of the surrounding landscape. Its a relatively small walk up the hill and is a little out of the way from the main path. Definitely worth the visit when in the area and some stunning views when at the top.

Gordon Halnan Great outlook. Well worth the effort. But not necessary if you go all the way to Nepean Point (where the views are better and there are more abandoned military facilities). Dont do the walk to the top of Cheviot Hill if you are not in good health. It is quite steep. If you walk up to the top, take the right fork - that way you avoid walking up steep steps. You can either do the whole loop anti-clockwise, so you walk down the steps on your way back, or avoid the steps completely and return via the same sloping paved pathway. Enjoy your time!
