The birds know what’s up - the moment you show up with a paper bag they would all fly to you like you are their queen. They even follow you around the lake while you walk around. A mini sand beach playing area at the far side, some kids play near the shallow water in summer. Great neighbourhood with a few decent real estates. Dinner at Shanika’s then walk around here would be an ideal evening. Might be the only legit leisure spot around the whole area.

James Blyth Lovely scenery and quite accessible! My partner used her electric wheelchair and was able to experience the best the lakes have to offer! Of course, we couldnt go up the stairs, but the rest has wide concreted paths suitable for manual (with some effort) and electric wheelchairs. Would be a nice place to picnic, though I do not think there are any toilets, accessible or otherwise.

Melissa Massey Utterly gorgeous local place that, despite being in the area often, I have only recently become acquainted with properly. Have been meeting with a Pogo group here regularly and am honestly disappointed I had never checked it out sooner. It is also great for the 12 year old (who doesnt have a mobile or play mobile games) as he enjoys the local bird population. A solo Swan, a heron, and a mix of other water birds are close at hand and keen to interact. The same can (surprisingly) be said for the Magpies who have worked out humans bring food. I have seen people hand feeding them (which is a no no) but it is still amazing to see. The birds here arent as accustomed to being fed as they are at the Cultural Centre, but you can still have a go. My advice would be to purchase a bag of food suitable for the animals on Amazon (as I have done) as we do it often enough that getting the 1 dollar bags from the local group (available at Lakeside Coles and Petbarn) dont really cover how often we do it. I have also seen people make their own that is very similar to a natural diet and some even bring them safe chopped vegetables (the birds arent discerning). The ponds can be fished and I have been informed they are stocked, just not confident with what. As a Ferntree Gully girl it has been quite some time since I have had a local place feel so naturally peaceful. The place is also great for fitness with paths that enable walking or jogging and outdoor gym equipment stationed around the area.

fitzchivalry137 Nice little wetlands nestled in a ring of hills. Gorgeous views from the summit, birdsong near the water, pretty flowering creepers. Watch out for the massive stairs if you have asthma.

James Blyth Beautiful place to go for a walk, not far at all from the centre of Pakenham. Many classic Australian birds found here. Actually quite wheelchair accessible, however, you will likely need someone to help push as the track is gravel.

Christie F Pleasant walk with a bit of up and down hill. Recommend if youre in the area (but not worth making a special trip for). Plenty of birds around and you might be lucky and see some other wildlife. There was a really stinky part of the trail but its over quickly enough.
