1 /5 Shan Galappaththi: Warning to First-Time Home Buyers: Do Not Approach Premasiri
My experience with Premasiri and his agency was extremely disappointing. This agent is unprofessional and, in my opinion, dishonest.
When I first contacted him, he suggested I take out a personal loan to cover the 5% deposit. Later, he assured me that if I couldnāt pay off the loan before applying for a mortgage, he would handle it and reimburse me. However, these promises turned out to be false. He seemed only interested in getting me to sign with a builder, securing himself a substantial commission (in my case, $42,000 on a $360,000 house). I have proof of this and am happy to provide it if needed.
Premasiri told many lies and played on my emotions. Once I signed the deal, he and his team ignored my calls and emails. If I went to his office, he would avoid me and hide like a rat. This experience has cost me a lot of money and stress over the past year because I trusted his word.
He and his team act more like scammers than professionals. If youāre considering this agency, especially in the Sri Lankan community, please be careful. Youāll likely be left unsupported once the deal is signed. Families, beware: do not approach this agency.
Yes, you brought us the land,(5 Leadbeater cct beverage ) but it was a water-damaged and filled lot. The original land contract was $305,000, and you received $10,000 in cash for the nomination. I have an email with your official signature on it. There was no transparency in the processāyou played on our emotions to get your commission. However, it didnāt work in the end. Contracting you was a joke. You blocked my mobile number, and when I came to see you, you hid like a rat. When I tried emailing you, there was no response. Calling your office number was uselessāno one picked up, and calls were never transferred to you, Premasiri.
How should I contact youācome to your home? This is not about rising interest rates; itās about you making false promises. The house contract never met the bank valuation and was consistently $35,000 short. How was that contract supposed to meet a valuation of $42,000 with your commission included?
Be careful dealing with people, especially Sri Lankans. They fool you by speaking to your heart in Sinhalese, making you take emotional decisions without thinking twice.
