1 /5 Ajla Lovrecic: I had a brief chat with Chris on the phone, I didn’t give much information on my deductions. ‘She laughed and said well based off all this even without knowing all the deductions I don’t believe you’ll get anything back. Perhaps $100 and you’ll have to pay our fees’. I was shocked by this and told her ‘I’m really not happy to hear this, it makes absolutely no sense. I don’t want to proceed with anything right now’. Something just didn’t add up so I went to a new accountant to get a second opinion and behold, everything Chris said was incorrect. I got back a fair bit!
A few weeks went by, and I get an email telling me my tax return had been ready. I was extremely confused as I didn’t provide any information on my deductions so contacted them immediately only to be told they’ve adjusted the amount to $165 and that the return should not have been sent out to me’.
Jane kept sending through the invoices and then even tried to direct debit $165 out of my account! After speaking with my bank and cancelling the transaction, I received an email from a debt collection agency.
Taking money from someone’s account without permission for a service that wasn’t given is absolutely disgusting!
