2 /5 A Laaa: Charged me $420 to prepare an individual tax return and then forgot to submit it. It was only after a few weeks upon checking with the ATO and seeing it was not submitted that I informed Rucker of their mistake. $420 is a lot for a tax return, I do own some crypto and shares but nothing unusually complex so why it was double the cost of all my other tax preparations in previous years is beyond me. Regardless I paid it but I expected them to actually execute the service I paid for! They initially tried to put it back on me saying I forgot to sign the paperwork and that became clear that was untrue. Whilst they did apologise they offered no compensation or discount. The Managing Director, who was CCed by the young bloke handling my account offered no apology or acknowledgment of the emails or situation. Very disappointing and unprofessional! The young bloke who handled the account was nice and Im not sure it was entirely his fault. He did his best and offered some decent advice, and for that I gave them a 2. But he also mentioned this wasnt the first time this issue had happened and he planned on leaving. And so, all in all I would steer clear of this company for individual tax preparations.
