Universal Gym - Somerton (VIC)

1 /5 Elenya: I normally don’t leave reviews, but I feel like people deserve to know the reality. Universal Gym seems great when you first sign up they’re friendly, helpful and quick to take your money. But after that, the customer service completely changes. Basic enquiries are ignored, staff are always on their phones or chatting amongst themselves, and it’s almost impossible to get simple assistance. I also had a serious incident where a male member entered without any announcement. Considering this is a gym you pay for privacy and safety, that was extremely uncomfortable and unprofessional. The owner is also very rude, and the overall attitude toward paying members is honestly shocking. I’ve been to many gyms in the area, and this is by far the worst in terms of customer service and maintenance. The price may be cheap, but even then, it’s not worth it. I definitely wouldn’t recommend this gym.

4 /5 Ismail Nasrak: I’ve been going to Universal Gym for about 4 years now, and it’s honestly one of the best gyms I’ve been to. The place is really spacious with heaps of machines, so you rarely have to wait for anything. The crowd is great too — friendly and motivating without being overbearing. It’s got a good vibe overall and makes working out something I actually look forward to.

4 /5 Aashish Syangtan: I recently visited Universal Gym and had a fantastic experience overall. The facilities are clean, the staff is friendly and professional, and the variety of equipment available meets all my fitness needs. However, there are a couple of areas that could use some improvement. The water dispenser needs to be fixed, as it was not functioning properly during my visit. Additionally, some of the equipment is old and rusty and should be replaced to ensure a safe and pleasant workout experience. Despite these minor issues, I would still highly recommend Universal Gym for anyone looking for a great place to work out.

5 /5 Evan G: I absolutely love universial gym! They have proper lifting platforms and the machines are high end with so much variety. It’s so nice that the owner, always there and very welcoming. The gym huge compared to where Ive been biggest so far which dont matter how busy always will get your session done in your time frame and lots of equipment , 10/10 would recommend.

3 /5 Nick P: Solid gym with great equipment, but the location is crap. One staff member is straight-up rude - won’t look at you, won’t say a word, zero basic manners. Makes the whole place feel unwelcoming. Also, the gym’s starting to look run-down. Would be way better if they actually bothered to maintain it.
