1 /5 Karlton Blues: Shocking gym. This gym used to be a Jetts Fitness gym (which was great with Michael as the gym manager) but after the change to Zap, the management consistently engages in blatant fraud and misleading conduct to scam customers.
When the business changed management, without any clear notification to customers, they have changed their terms to add a $5/w fee for when the membership is paused, and a 30 day cooling off period for cancellation (none of which were terms to the original contract) which means that I have to pay out of pocket now when I go on holiday.
On top of this the equipment is always damaged, and Zap will often mis-charge the frequency of direct debit payments. This means customers need to constantly monitor their bank account or risk the gym stealing extra payments once in a while.
It is impossible to cancel membership with this company and customer service will make any excuse to keep charging you. From customer service, I spoke to a lady named Rachel who was rude and aggressive, and then a supervisor named Jeremy, who was less aggressive, but none the less, did not acknowledge or make any changes to Zaps scamming policies. Instead of taking on feedback, Jeremy told me I could go to Consumer Affairs if I had a problem.
Please avoid this gym at any costs. I have spoken to all of my friends and they have all had the same experience. There is a Oakleigh Derrimut gym 5 minutes up the road, which is half the price with better management.
