Afghan Kebab House - Food (VIC)

4 /5 NotNow: Very good food, very slow service. 33 mins to get a chicken and a koobideh kebab.10 mins at any other Afghan kebab place we have been at. 3 others who came in after us were served first. Someone in the kitchen not reading the numbers correctly. Lucky the meals were excellent. Juicy chicken and mince served with salad and fresh hot noon Afghan bread. Good value also at $44 for two including drinks.

5 /5 Jessica Vu: Service was a touch slow but their food is AMAZING. $50 for a smal family platter and the two of us ( both adults) still had leftovers for takeaway. I can dine here over and over abain amazing charcoal meat.

1 /5 vera reviews: Do not recommend Ive been here twice now, both times was disappointing and the second time was enough to never come back The service is meh, youre treated indifferently and you need to ask a million questions to get a straight answer The menu pics of food is tiny and on the tv screens, no paper menu Its really hard to make out what the dishes are if youre not familiar with the cuisine There is a display cabinet to see the salads and rice but the menu doesnt help much to know how dishes are assembled First visit we ordered the family meal $60+ which comes with yoghurt drink, after we ordered and paid she tells us that theyve run out of the drink so no drinks for us with the meal, i request to instead get a replacement drink e.g soft drink or something and she says no thats a diff drink so need to pay seperate, this isnt fair as she tells us after the fact that this meals drinks sold out After some back and forth and saying well give extra bread or something, answer no, then ask salad, no , ask rice, no eventually after like what went on for ages, asked for manager /owner , who is the guy handling the grill 2 steps away, they talk in their language for a bit and he confirms give something additional rice to compensate the drinks Second visit and still bit of a drainer to order, this time i find out tea is free with any order, last time i asked about tea and that didnt go anywhere , Anyway, the food took 30 mins to be served, during this time a table of 6, a table of 2 and a single guy came and ordered after 10 mins from us , with same dishes, (this time ordered the kebab meals x2 , single meal each), and their meals came before ours Could see that the table of 6 and single person was their friends /known to them based on how they talked and some even went to back area, Ok but still you should treat customers fairly and serve by order etc A table of 4 next to us ordered before us and their food came 10 mins after ours Very confusing order serving Also, when the server was putting plates onto table next to ours, she carries a tray and puts it on our table, she put the tray with plates etc onto my purse /clutch (LV neverfall cluch, now costs around $800 AUD) and car keys (which had a keychain), and dragged them 15cm across the table squished under the tray, as shes walking off she sheepishly looks at us and smiles. Dont put things on, drag or damage peoples properly this place is pretty ridiculous Youre always met with a weird attitude by the servers Whilst i was there a guy came back 2 times to checkup on his takeaway order ready for pickup, eventually he demanded a refund as they kept saying 10 more mins, 20 more mins, and it had been over 40 mins close to an hour About the food? It tastes good and big portions, but its not worth the drama and plenty places nearby & around serve same type of food and just as tasty The prices arent cheap nor expensive , average
