5 /5 ABHISHEK KAKSHAPATI: One of the best Indian restaurants in Melbourne’s west! The food was delicious, with the butter chicken as the best pick, and we even enjoyed a complimentary wine for Father’s Day. The staff were so friendly with warm smiles, and the atmosphere was perfect. Our Father’s Day celebration at Jay Ho was truly memorable. Can’t wait to come back again!

That was me at @jaiho_hoppers tonight starting with a Bombay Bramble cocktail - bright, fragrant, and the perfect prelude to what became a spectacular dinner. We kicked things off with the Chaat Platter: aloo tikki, samosa, and papri, each carrying its own little symphony of textures and flavours. Think zingy, tangy, crunchy, spiced-just-right, the kind of balance that makes your tastebuds sit up straighter. We also added the boneless chicken tikka, tender and smoky with a gentle heat that lingered just long enough to be memorable. Then came the mains, and honestly, they were a triumph: Lamb Rahara cooked to melt-in-the-mouth perfection, teamed with rice, cooling raita, and both a soft, paper-thin rumali roti and a classic plain roti. Everything danced beautifully with a 2022 #sistersrunshiraz, proving yet again that Indian cuisine and Australian reds are one of life’s great secret power couples. A huge shout-out to Huran, our waiter - warm, intuitive, and always one step ahead of what we needed. And to Shradda, co-owner and a woman absolutely overflowing with passion for good food and genuine hospitality. Her love for what she does is felt in every plate. 5 /5 Luke Wallace: Absolutely amazing food — without a doubt the best I’ve had in a long time. Every dish was full of rich, authentic flavour and truly tasted like real Punjabi home-style cooking. You can tell the food is made with care, passion, and tradition, not shortcuts. The quality of the ingredients, the balance of spices, and the depth of flavour were outstanding. Everything felt comforting, fresh, and incredibly satisfying. On top of the incredible food, the service was just as amazing. Ginni was absolutely wonderful — so welcoming, attentive, and genuinely kind. Her service really elevated the entire experience and made us feel looked after from start to finish. It’s rare to find such a perfect combination of outstanding food and exceptional service. Jai Ho in Hoppers Crossing has completely set the bar for authentic Punjabi food. This wasn’t just a meal, it was an experience. I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending it to everyone I know.

4 /5 Anish Kumar Giri: 5/5 for service and ambience. Ample parking space and heart touching welcoming gesture by service lady and other staff. We ordered manchurian, fries and noodles. They were good but not something that I would say extra ordinary. We asked for mild spice level but it turned out to be too much spicy for us , I will term it as personal choice may be. So make sure your ask for right level of spice when they ask for. I still love the restaurant and will visit again to try other dishes.
