1 /5 Lena Andratschke: I had a spa pedicure and manicure at Ashwood Nails and unfortunately have to say that I don’t understand the great reviews at all. This was my WORST experience at a Melbourne nail salon so far and I definitely won’t be back here again!
Firstly the salon is not very clean, all the chairs are covered in nailpolish and everything just seems a bit too cluttered!
I could live with that! But then the pedicure was the roughest I ever had! I understand that there may be some force required and my pain tolerance is pretty high…but she used a very coarse grater tool that was very uncomfortable and hurtful and didn’t put any cream on to give back some moisture after, so my feet were left super dry after all the rough treatment and peeling?! Sorry but this has nothing to do with a SPA?! pedicure. My feet felt better before! So definitely a WASTE of money.
Nail polish application was ok but also very rushed.
I would have let that one pass, I guess, but then it continued with the manicure. She cut away my skin around the nails, which should be standard routine. But after I left the salon and had a closer look on the results, I noticed that there were two spots where it was slightly bleeding and one spot where she cut down so deep that it actually was super sore and hurt like a cut! (see photo attached) I have never come out of a manicure with cuts and actual bleeding spots!!!
And the tip of the iceberg was that the price wasn’t as advertised! I booked online and should have paid 40AUD for the pedicure and 10AUD for the manicure. When it came to payment it added up to just over 60AUD?! Luckily with a so called “new customer discount” it came down to 52AUD… and I didn’t want to argue because of 2AUD and just wanted to get the hell out of there to be honest! But this is FALSE advertising. Just put the right prices on your online booking platform!
All in all a VERY BIG DISAPPOINTMENT and I regret wasting money on this!!
