1 /5 moto continental: Despite our place being only 1900 metres from Panton Hill post office, we get no mail delivery whatsoever. We have to go there to pick up mail and put up with rudeness from the agent. Just today, again, he threatened to send mail back if not collected. We go there fairly regularly to check, but the aged relatives who are usually manning the mail counter have very little English comprehension and even less interest in the task, so it’s potluck as to whether you get your mail and probably why it builds up, because they miss it going through. Their literacy is simply not up to scratch for something that Australia Post has a responsibility for… making sure people get mail delivered that somebody has paid for.
On at least four occasions, I’ve been handed other people’s mail with a completely wrong name and address. Probably even in the wrong pigeon hole. If you complain to the agent, he just raises his voice, gets all defensive and talks over the top of you. He refuses to take any responsibility and is clearly incompetent.
The mail area is in chaos. It’s an absolute disgrace. I’ve had a gut full and I think the agent has a well. He should never have been allowed to take it on in the first place. I will be bringing this to the attention of the Postal Industry Ombudsman.
