1 /5 iyapots B: I’m all for following rules and policies, but they must be clearly communicated. I visited Plus Fitness Wattle Grove through my Fitness Passport membership, and unfortunately, my experience was disappointing.
Jon interrupted my session with my 12-year-old daughter (who is my dependent under Fitness Passport and was attending the gym for the first time with me) during our rowing and cardio workout. He openly addressed the issue on the gym floor while I was training. Initially, he allowed my daughter to continue the session as a “one-time staff exemption” but next time we should be hiring the gym PT for her to continue. However, when I asked him to clarify where this was stated in the policy (which I believe he couldn’t find), he resorted to calling his manager. Later, he publicly stated on the gym floor that he needed to “kick out” my daughter.
While I understand the importance of following policies and ensuring safety, Jon’s behavior was rude and unprofessional. He seemed untrained in handling the situation respectfully, especially in front of other gym members.
The facility itself is acceptable, though there is a noticeable smell of sweat, and not all gym-goers clean the equipment after use. Instead of addressing hygiene, Jon appeared more focused on personal conversations than supporting members or maintaining a clean environment.
If this is the standard of customer service and staff training, it reflects poorly on the gym’s management. I hope this review encourages improvements in customer service and clearer communication of gym policies, especially for those using Fitness Passport.
