Sophie Gulland I drive from the Blue Mountains to get my hair done by Elle. She knows I’m lazy with my hair and gives me low maintenance styles that always look great. She’s also incredibly patient when I don’t know exactly what I want. The salon is a lovely place to be and the results are totally worth the two hours it takes me to get there.

Elle can take the most vague inspo and pinpoint exactly what you’re looking for, what’s realistic and what will look best on you, all the while prioritising the health of your hair. In addition to her expertise, Elle’s salon is gorg and she has put so much thought into the little details, creating a comfortable space. She’s the best to talk to and also 100% respects if you don’t feel like chatting. Bonus; she makes great coffees and always has snacks on hand! Fg McLean The Entire Team at Ara are incredible at their craft. I was new to the area when I was lucky enough to find Maddie and the entire ara family. The salons location is perfect and has parking, and easy access. Since finding them I have never seen anyone else for all my hair needs. The girls know I have had a challenging hair journey from brown to bleach, and back and scalp conditions, and it was no problem for them. Everyone is so lovely and welcoming. It’s a modern salon, yet cosy, and you feel safe and in good hands the entire time. Maja cut my hair and today, we also tried braids. Ebony does my colour and she does a wonderful job at listening to your needs and then works out what would suit best. I’m trying to be as natural and low maintenance as possible and I think we absolutely nailed it. I also like that I’m able to bring my laptop and work from the salon, each chair has a little coffee table and a power outlet nearby (perfect for the work from home girlies)

D M Ive been getting my hair coloured (blonde), cut and styled by Lara for the past 14 years. One of her fist customs since she opened in 2010. Lara is knowledgeable and hones about what can be expected when showing inspiration photos in relation to your own hair. Ive never been disappointed - delivers each and every time. Im always enjoying the chat and complementary coffee. All the staff are lovely. The salon is spacious and comfortable. I also appreciate child friendly attitude when I have to bring my daughter along to the appointment. Lara and her team are important part of Sutherlands community and amazing hairdressers!

James Ryan Been going here for years, friendly staff, they know what they are doing, reasonably priced unlike a rip off hairdresser, not too bad for parking in Eton st except for Saturday mornings where Sutherland is just chaos.

It feels like if youre not a regular, they just rush through the cut to get you out the door. Honestly, I’d say avoid this place unless you’re on friendly terms with the staff.

brett macgregor The people there seemed like they had a bad day and took it out on me by ruining my hair. I couldnt stop them because they already ruined half of it and cant walk around looking like that. They didnt even ask. Terrible. Never going there again.

Lisa Woods Great prices here and you can walk in without an appointment if necessary. The owner does my blonde foils and Im always impressed at the amount of effort he puts in for a low cost. This place is family-friendly, lots of women, men, elderly folk and kids coming in.
