Nina Beilby Lovely. Really nice change of scenery from the river. Mixes it up a bit. Lots of families and kids there too. Great little walk. We added it to the Great North and LC River walks for a 17km round trip morning out.
5 /5
Ali Akbari Simple short walk from the park and very beautiful specially when the water level is high
5 /5
Natalie Costa Bir This was a lovely walk through the national park. Did this with two two-year-olds and one four year old (and one other adult) and it was very manageable. The boardwalk itself is stunning - such an unusual and striking landscape with the mangroves everywhere. We came from Buffalo Creek Reserve so continued on to Sugarloaf Point to look at the water before returning. Sugarloaf Point has lots of good spots to picnic.
5 /5
Daithí Kilcourse We were walking from Boronia Park to Sugarloaf Hill and came across this beautiful spot. The boardwalk is short but take your time and enjoy watching the crabs jumping in and out of their holes. A beautiful spot to enjoy and relax.
5 /5
Steven Halliday Beautiful part of Sydney. Short boardwalk, but a perfect example of a mangrove! Take time and watch all the crabs dart into their holes. We did this part on our walk from Boronia Park to Ryde.

Frank Li Very nice experience on the real steam train. If you go at a hot and sunny day, dont forget the sun cream.

z3173054 Great place to visit with kids. Plenty of families come here when there is no rain. There is a food kiosk but basically serves junk food. You need to purchase entry tickets on the website. You can line up to buy train tickets on site. Lines to trains were about 10-15mins wait. The earlier you get there, the better. Parking is not the best - basically off street parking. Be prepared to walk. Only opened 1 a month on a Saturday.
5 /5
Echan SUN Fantastic day out with friends! Perfect for adults too. Skip the crowded spots, plenty of stations inside with shorter lines. Loved it!
5 /5
Roseanne S A fantastic little afternoon out! We had a great time with our toddler riding the trains all afternoon. Everything ran so efficiently thanks to the wonderful volunteers. This place is a hidden gem.

A B A nice playground in Yamble reserve with seating, a hammock and a nice path to ride your scooter or bike. There are bathrooms in Yamble reserve with a nice picnic space. There are also gazebos and benches to sit.
4 /5
Marcelle Girgis Excellent. Important story to it also. Livvi’s Place in North Ryde is so beautiful and helpful to family life. This same area used to be just plain old grass that NO ONE ever ever used. Just the Council mowing it year in and year out. Now it has little adventure areas and the best toys ever. Adults and kids can use them.
5 /5
Stephen Scholem Great childrens play equipment, with two large and one small spinning devices. Wonderful dual flying foxes, though too close to the ground for an adult to use them. Huge swinging hammock. Huge sandpit. Pretty park around the enclosed playground, nice for picnics.

Joan Nga Awesome park. Heaps of shade from huge trees, which makes it the best park for the height of summer - you barely need sunscreen here. There’s pretty decent play equipment for all ages, from young toddlers through to kids. Lots of space to run around. Walking distance from cafes etc
5 /5
Winsor Mathew Beautiful park, under the canopy of large trees, shady and well equipped. The adventure playground is new and up to current safety standards. Perfect for the family picnic or just a visit with the kids. If youre looking for lunch or dinner, Ryde Eastwood Club is just around the corner.

Empty during schools hours on weekdays but can get busy in the evenings and weekends! Only 1-2 cafes nearby, a street or so away. Will come back!

Paul Osores Schlack Great Park is a hidden gem with sprawling grassy fields perfect for a picnic, sand pits where kids can unleash their inner archaeologists, fun slides, convenient toilets, swings that let you soar, a half-court for basketball showdowns, and even a mini bike track for the little racers. But alas, time has taken its toll—this once vibrant haven is now in dire need of some TLC to bring it back to its former glory.
4 /5
Raymond Nersessian We held my son’s birthday here, lovely park with extensive playground, scooter paths and plenty of shade cover. Amenities like toilets and water bubblers were close by and clean.
5 /5
Terry Hur Its a nice small park with plenty of playground for kids and a full set of facilities for having a bbq. There is a pair of bbq grills, taps, bubbler, and toilets. It even has a half court basketball hoop which is rather rare in Sydney. Parking is accessible from Shaftsbury Road.
5 /5
Mark Sze Lions Park is a great park for kids - babies up to 10 years old (although better up to about 7-8). The park has an oval scooter track with a slight incline and decline as well as poles to go through and a play gas station. Within the track is a decent patch of grass for kicking a ball around or a picnic. A large sandpit provides a lot of entertainment with a fun set of equipment that transports sand from one end to the other through various stations, as well as a sand digger. Its also well shaded. A climbing net, swings, and a couple of small slides complete the play area. A small half basketball half court for older kids is available and in good condition. Facilities include drinking water, two barbecue hot plates, tables and chairs, and bathrooms (no change table). Parking is free and is sufficient for this smaller park. Recommended for young families.

Cameron and Adriana Hardy Park in Ryde is a great little park not too far from Top Ryde Shopping Centre. There are swings, climbing equipment and sandstone rocks surround it that make for a good game of ‘the floor is lava’. The dinosaur theme is cool and the sand pit has dinosaur bones the kids can dig for.

Imges Gannan Park

(149) Reviews Gannan Park:

Tanya Vanderkooi A fairly large sports area comprising of a baseball field and cricket field plus batting practice cages. It also has a graded hillside behind the baseball field good place for a bike ride just not the best after rain as it gets rather waterlogged. There is a small play area for the kids plus toilets and picnic tables. Toilets are only open during daylight.
3 /5
Gary Daly Great wide open grass area for everyone. Shaded seated area for eating and gatherings. Have taken soccer coaching pre-season clinics for juniors over the last few years. The open space allows for a variety of pastimes. Set in the middle and hidden by the very leafy green suburban paradise. Busy roads exist at the boundaries but the park is protected by a very quiet side street that borders The very busy Quarry Road. You wouldn’t even know there was traffic. There is a great carpark that does fill up pretty quickly on weekends and late summer afternoons. Limited street parking but still if you drive there’s a good chance you’ll get a car spot. Also during some periods of the calendar year the carpark is empty in the early mornings where I’ve taken my son for driving lessons. More like early car/vehicle/driving acclimatisation. All in all a very well kept open wide and green park. Great for everyone.
4 /5
Josh Makarenko Great park, excellent facilities, cricket nets are in great condition, oval is nice and big and well maintained. Baseball diamond is in good nick. Lots of covered spaces to stay out of the elements. Toilets are clean and comfortable and always stocked. Good little playground with a sun shade over the monkey bars.
5 /5
Marvs Tab Great place to unwind and exercise in the afternoons. Lots of space for kids to run.
5 /5
Damien Le Cricket nets are pretty nice here though when my ball went over, I found a body right behind. Minus that experience this couldve been a 5. Please monitor for any bodys in this park...
