Mohammed Junaid Tucked away in the bushy edges of the Royal National Park, Loftus Lookout is one of those local gems that surprises you with its simplicity and breathtaking views. It’s not a long hike to get there, but the payoff? Totally worth it. Once you reach the top, youre greeted with sweeping views over the treetops and glimpses of the Woronora River winding its way through the valley. It’s peaceful, often quiet, and feels like a private escape into nature—perfect for clearing your head, soaking in golden hour, or just escaping the urban buzz for a while. Whether youre a local looking for a scenic spot to unwind or a visitor exploring the Shire’s natural beauty, Loftus Lookout is a short adventure that delivers big on views. Just bring comfy shoes, a water bottle, and your camera—youll want to capture the moment.

David Doherty Went there for a quiet bush walk. It has a beautiful view looking down to the Woronora River. Great location to watch the sunset. The shortest trail to walk there is from First Ave Loftus. There is another trail that goes towards Sutherland as well and finishes behind the football.

Mark Newbury What a wonderful place to visit. Took my 15 month old Grand Daughter and she Loved the tram rides and kept wanting to ride again and again. Even the museum kept her interested. There was a school group there as well and they were having a lot of fun and asking lots of questions. Run by volunteers who were all very happy and keen to give a positive experience. Well worth the effort to go. Plenty of parking as well.

craigavery62 A great off the beaten track Sydney attraction. Next to Loftus station , many trams lovingly restored from around the world & all day rides on historic hundred plus years old trams into Royal National Park. Ideal for a connecting bush walk. All run by a great bunch of dedicated volunteers

Ollie Fitton-Cook Sydney Tramway was a fabulous little diversion on our drive to North Sydney. Great displays of old trams but the main attraction has to be the lengthy tram rides into the national park. Recommended.

Heather Ferguson We went on one of the days they allow dogs unboard. It was really great!! Enjoyed the roughly 15-20min ride on the team into the National Park and back. Made it extra fun that the dogs were allowed on board too! The staff were so welcoming and helpful.

Qinge Dai Only Wednesdays and Sundays are open, kids like it very much as you can sit on the old tram to travel in the forest. You can sit on the tram for many times with the only ticket. Volunteers are so nice and you can feel the warm welcome.
