Sean Nairn This is a group of large boulders at the junction of the Great North Walk and Gundah Ridge tracks. You can walk to the top for filtered views of Berowra Creek, but not much else to see here so sit and ponder how long ago they crashed down to the valley floor from the cliffs above...No facilities here, youll need to walk to Berowra to the north or Crosslands to the south for water and toilets.

2.Fire Fighters Rest Memorial

Address: 942X+C5, Mount Kuring-gai NSW 2080

(3) Reviews Fire Fighters Rest Memorial:

Sean Nairn Located in Kuring-Gai Chase National Park, this memorial commemorates four National Parks and Wildlife Service officers who died fighting a bushfire in 2000. The memorial is a clear recognition of the value that that community places on the work undertaken by National Parks and Wildlife Service staff, both in bush regeneration and hazard reduction programs. In particular, the memorial commemorates the lives of those four officers whose work related directly to protecting the homes of local residents from bushfire. The memorial is located about 5 metres off the Mt Kuringai to Berowra track, on the western side of the ridge - about 30 minutes walk from Mt Kuringai station. There is a panoramic view over the valley and a bronze plaque set into the rock, as well as a seat made from bush rock. Take care as there are sheer drops off the cliff edge and its not fully fenced.

My Nguyen We did one way starting from Mt Ku Ringgai Station and walked to Berowra Station. It’s a nice trail. It’s steep up at the end. The view is at Junction Rock.

Karina Wong Starting from Berowra station towards Mt Kuring-gai Station. Beautiful trail along Sams Creek, Berowra Creek, Calna Creek, and Lyrebird Gully. Physically demanding with steep ascent and descent & crossing the creeks on slippery rocks many times. Yet, the scenery is very rewarding. Start early in the morning so that you may take your time to appreciate the view and take photos. There are not enough signs on the trails tho, need to pay attention not to get lost.

Haley Flanagan Beautiful place connected to a moderately difficult stretch of the Great North Walk. Absolutely buzzing with mosquitoes in the warmer months, which is a shame because the BBQ facilities are top notch. Would recommend for a walk or a winter camping trip.

Amelia Rose Incredible walk! Very steep descent and ascent but worth it. Leave 4 hours if youre gonna take your time and stop for food breaks and taking photos. Hiking boots recommended especially after rain.

Huge Rose 4.5 stars. Awesome walk. One of the best parts of the great north walk. Train to mt Ku-ring-gai st and then walk to Berowra station. Saw a lyrebird, heaps of cicadas and a goanna. Clearly marked walking track with minimal fire trails. About 10km. Took about 2.5 hours. Intermediate difficulty.
