jj zhang Fit for Kayaking, SUP, bush walking, bird watching and picnic. Lovely playground and renovated bathroom. On site parking is $8 per hour, $40 for all day. Or you can park on the roadside in the nearby residence area and walk around 10minutes.

The collective weight of stupidity can get high however, parents failing to properly supervise children around water and swimmers venturing into motorised boat zones is common.

paul cristina The Mermaid Pool is located on Manly Creek just near Manly Dam. Its said that the local Aboriginal people believed the creator spirit lived here and so they wouldnt swim in the pool. It was explored in the late 18th Century by Captain Arthur Philip of First Fleet fame and it wasnt until more than a century later that it was given the name Mermaid Pool because during the depression, girls from a nearby shanty town would go skinny dipping here in the evenings. Local people have done a tremendous job clearing and restoring the Mermaid Pool in recent times.
