1 /5 Ahmed Samour: As a gym, it’s fine. Not very modern nor the greatest assortment of machines, but gets the job done.
But if you care about customer service, I highly recommend you avoid. I was considering joining a new gym but called up first to see if I would be able to cancel. They said that’s fine, I would just need to send through an email and it’d be processed within 30 days.
Confirmed a couple more time to make sure, the guy seemed annoyed but put me at ease. Perfect, I email right after the call but receive no response and am still being charged 30 days later. Send a follow-up email and now get told cancelling is not possible because I am still under contract.
Was told this is my responsibility because I signed something over a year ago, but them giving me the wrong advice and “losing” my email is just a great big whoopsie.
One of us is a million dollar company and the other is a sucker who already joined a new gym because he was told he could but still has to pay up foe the next few months.
I’ve been training for years and usually the gyms are effectively the same. It’s the staff that usually separates a good and a bad gym. And in that regard, this is a terrible gym.
So this is my plug for One Playground. It feels like a hotel with how fancy it is, the machines are brand new and always working, and they have health club facilities like sauna. Also it is just $25 per week ($35 if you opt for classes) and they were very understanding when I told them what had happened so that I don’t have to pay two fees.
Don’t say you value your community when you just actually care about our wallets.
