5 /5 Christian Thurston: Im totally new to pilates and came here because I dont want my body to be totally hunched over when Im in my 80s.
That said, its a whole new language for me, and as a guy who is used to lifting weights, I was a bit nervous about trying pilates.
Ive done three sessions and the teachers, Vivian and Yui, have both been fantastic. Do I feel clumsy? Do I feel like a total beginner? Yes, but thats ok. Its worth it.
And I feel strangely happy and positive when I leave. Apparently this is normal, but I would have been skeptical if someone told me that when I started.
Its not as physically demanding as I feared, its more of a coordination and noticing your body kind of difficulty, which is exactly what I need. Also, its a friendly crowd.
