1 /5 Darcy Peter Smith: Be warned, if you purchase a Citizen watch from Prouds, the Citizen watch has a 5 year warranty. The catch is, the battery has a life of approximately 2 years which they wont guarantee in any case so even if the watch is working well and you get another battery put in from a jeweler or Mister Minit that voids your warranty so you need to take your Citizen watch back to Prouds, they will send it away to Citizen to get a new battery and charge you $75. They will not give you a definitive time the battery will last. If you get a quote from Mister Minit they will replace the battery for $26.95 and give you a 2 year guarantee on the battery. So Citizen / Prouds between the two of them Citizen voids the warranty and Prouds charges you approximately 3 times more for the battery. What a rip-off.
When you pick your watch up they give you a little card, a repair and service promise and it says on top "Citizen Watch Australia Pty Ltd After Sale Service Centre", it has lines for Watch Technician, Customer Care Consultant, Date and Job Number. They dont sign or fill in Watch Technician and they dont put a date. How Convenient. You dont know how long your battery will last.Yet again they get out of any warranty at all.
