Hunter Valley Gardens

Mihiri Ramyanath We visited Hunter Valley Gardens during the Mega Creatures season, and it was such a fun day for our family! The life-sized dinosaurs were a huge hit with our child, and the displays were really impressive. We also loved exploring the beautiful themed gardens, especially the Storybook Garden and the peaceful Oriental Garden. The fantastic creatures mesmerised us as we wandered around the top of the Sunken Garden Waterfall. The whole place was very family-friendly, with easy paths for walking with a pram, clean facilities, and plenty of spots to relax. This is truly a must-visit, especially if you’re looking for a day out that entertains both kids and adults. We left with lots of smiles, great photos, and happy memories. . Highly recommend for families (whether you’re a tourist or a local family looking for a relaxing escape)– it’s a magical mix of nature, fun, and adventure!

Hunter Farm & Adventure Centre - Pokolbin

Shaswat We did horse ride at Hunter Farm and Adventure centre, our experience was awesome. Staff were friendly and ride was exciting. Parking: Plenty of angle parking available in the site. Booking: Recommended to book online as Sometime they get really busy . Cost: price was fair. Best time to horse ride would be around 9 am in the morning during the summer as it might get hotter later in the days or evening would be ideal time. Toilet cleaning was okay.

Hunter Valley Visitor Information Centre, Shop Hunter Valley and Whats On

Giovanni Mellisa Soesanto Very informative attendant. The pamphlets are nicely organised based on categories. I should have asked the staff first as I initially gained the brochure and interested on local events only to find out the Saturday market is not currently on. Next to the airport. Lovely atmosphere for the gift shop too. Recommended place to visit.

Burning Mountain Nature Reserve

Phillip Quigg A very interesting and unique geological site. Below the mountain peak is a burning coal seam. The heat, venting gases and changes to the landscape are easily seen. The walk from the picnic area and car park up to the peak is steep in parts, though there are basic steps for most of it. A reasonably fit person will have no trouble getting to the peak in about 40 mins. There is lookout about 1/3 the way up and a solitary picnic table at about the halfway point. I visited on a foggy winter morning and though missed out on the views along the way, the quiet forest scenes were a sight of themselves. I saw half-a-dozen Eastern Grey Kangaroos along the path, as they bounded away at the sound of my footsteps. I also observed many Crimson Rosellas and a couple of Kookaburras. Well worth a stop, if your travelling along the New England Highway

Yengo National Park

Maurice van Creij There is something intimidating about this great green empty spot on the map, but the place is anything but featureless in real life. Yengo is full of history and untouched wilderness.

Hunters Hill Historical Society Museum

Jennifer Fehr The museum is small but theyre relocating to a larger space soon - its free so definitely value added. The artifacts are all local and the curators are dedicated - lots of interesting local knowledge here. Great place to visit if you are interested in Hunters Hill or have roots there.

Boronia Park Reserve

Sara Piccinelli Great location, the newly built facilities are just what this field needed. Its great to watch the rugby here. Such a great club! This park is not the best for the oldies as the grass gets slippery, there are no seats and plenty of tripping hazards. There is a dog off the leash area which is not fenced, some dogs run off and its not safe for all dogs. There is a walking track to the water but this is just an old road and its not like other park walkable areas built with runners or accessibility in mind. A small but cute kids BMX track, suitable for older kids. There are some basketball hoops and clubs that use this area for their pickleball club. There is a small dated playground on the busy road which is cute but doesnt compare to other impressive playgrounds in other newer areas of Sydney. Parking can be busy when games are on. You can park and keep your feet dry and a short walk way is brand new lit concrete pathway at the new facilities which is good for parking and watching the game and accessing the upper level of the club.
