5 /5 David Halfpenny: I strolled to Forrester Park when I was waiting for my car to get a rego inspection and stood in the cricket pitch absorbing the warmth and sunlight on a clear winters day. While too small and weirdly shaped to work as a real cricket ground, the open field is a lovely place for many casual sports. The kids play area looks relatively new and the surrounding bush is well kept.
The true secret of the park is that its a gateway to a delightful suburban bush walk which will take you up to Browns Waterhole and then, possibly, on to the Great North Walk, if youre so inclined. Its like entering Narnia, save its via a casual little park rather than a wardrobe (and the characters that inhabit the area are decidedly less creepy).
