3 /5 Terry Hutchings: Since the flood and with the mud slowly disappearing, another of Bankstown Councils little known gems is slowly comming back to life. And while some of those usually required check boxes arent ticked like: parking and Wheelchair access,
on street parking is available, but risky being along the shoulder of Henry Lawson drive.
As for wheelchair access, there isnt any. So not advisable for some. Still, in the more pleasant weather or even now, there is plenty of seating for small numbers, which is where some of the appeal is with this place. So it can be quite enjoyable there having nice, clean, grassy slopes down to a small sandy beach. Also, if you venture along the well maintained cycleway, starting at the North end, there are more little picnic spots along the way.
Easy to find opposite the southern end of Kelso Oval, which is about two Kms from Panania Diggers (The RSL) and almost the same distance to East Hills pub. Which in turn is across the road from East Hills Takeaway. (Not open Sundays) TIP: Go to the takeaway before the beach.
A few more tides and a little rain and Kelso beach will be back to its old self... Lovely.
