1 /5 Jerry Dohnal: Bizarre experience. Possibly the fastest cut I have ever had (in 56 years), and it shows. The barber spent more time finishing the guy in front of me than he spent on my entire cut. 5 minutes for mine tops. My regular hairdresser in Hurstville, currently overseas, usually takes 35-45 minutes. Anyway, there are three chairs in the tiny shop. The chair that the guy before me sat in was covered in hair, and there was all of his hair around it. When the barber directed me to sit down, I thought he said "middle chair" - one that was clean. Unbeknownst to me, he was actually saying "same chair". He seemed to take great offence in me having misunderstood him, told me forcefully that all his tools are in front of the end chair, not in front of the middle chair - like I would know. And he literally used just a razor and very briefly scissors. He was also quite pointed about the "cash only", repeating it after I had already said "okay". I really should have walked out then. When he asked me if I lived there, and I said yes, he told me he has been in Mortdale three years and *knows everyone*, almost as if implying I was lying. (I only just returned this year to Australia after 10 years in Ireland). Ridiculously fast cut - I parked in an hour spot, but only needed 15 minutes total, which included the waiting time for the previous guy to be finished - but not precise and not cheap ($25 cash for all of 5 minutes). Wont be back.
