Raquel Karolyi Machado Little cute manicure/pedicure place. Lovely staff, clean place and very professional. I highly recommend.
You can book online or call them to book. I guess you can also walk in and see if they have availabilities.

Allison Monkhouse Great service. Nails always come out perfectly and last for ages (both gel & sns). My daughter also goes and has extensions with intricate designs and they are amazing, including these Christmas ones.

Ebony Papak I’ve been going to Opal Stone since it opened over a decade ago. Anna and the team are phenomenal. This is not your typical nail salon. They truly care about your life and strike up great conversations. Prices are exactly as expected and the staff really listen to what you want.
I’ve had my wedding nails done here, nails for birthdays, anniversaries, Christmas etc. You name it, they’ll help you!
Highly recommend making an appointment during busy times (weekends, evenings etc), however, walk-in’s are always accommodated.
Thank you Anna and the team for giving me brilliant nails for so many years!

Natasha Heilan FINAL EDIT: the owner tried his best to intimidate me, but has not succeeded. The police have now been involved, and I will be using the information and records to go ahead and lodge a legal claim through the ACCC, and have processed a dispute with my bank. My apologies to the Footscray police station, who had their time wasted because of the stubbornness and unprofessional behaviour from this business. Community, please be aware that this business will not take any accountability and will attempt to turn around make you out to be the bad person, and threaten to take legal action against you, when all they had to do was process a refund. I would have walked away and never graced their doorstep again (not that I’ll ever step foot in that salon again anyway). Now they will have to deal with the bank and ACCC, who will reverse the transaction and I’ll get the refund that could have been easily done by the business.
To the owner. I am a reasonable person, who has strong values and I deeply believe in doing what is fair and right. You have my number. All I ask is for a refund. And out of respect and courtesy, I will stop the bank dispute and complaint with consumer affairs, and even remove this review. If you are willing to work with me, I offer you the chance to do the right thing. I would love to sort this out amicably.
EDIT 3: I once again gave opal stone the opportunity to discuss this situation, again affording them the respect of doing so over the phone. I was yelled over, and hung up on. I will now have to go into the salon and ask for a refund in front of their current clients. If the refund is not processed, I will go ahead with lodging my dispute with my bank and they will have to deal with them. This is not what I wanted to do.
EDIT 2: the salon are refusing to reimburse me for the very bad job they did. I gave them the respect of calling them and having this discussion over the phone, rather than going into the shop and discussing this issue in front of their current clients. The owner was incredibly rude and arrogant, asking “are you done talking”, while I was explaining my complaint. I never raised my voice or spoke in a rude manner. I calmly and professionally explained my complaint and was met with aggression. I was told I should have known that they charged extra for a French tip. How was I meant to know when this isn’t my regular nail salon, and I was given a quote over the phone? They are point blank refusing to refund me, and I will be going to consumer affairs. Highly unprofessional, rude and stubborn. Not even an acknowledgment of the bad job or an apology.
EDIT: so now it’s day time and I can actually see them properly, they are so much worse than I first thought. I’ve added more pictures. Incredibly patchy, missing in some parts, and it looks like I’ve dipped my nails in a bucket of paint.
Not upfront about their costs. They will tell you one price over the phone and then when you go to pay they charge more. I asked for a very simple design, and was told they wanted an extra $35, on top of the $55 I was told on the phone. So I said just do a simple French then. This was not at all what I wanted and I was sad. Then went to pay and they charged me more, completely neglecting to tell me that a French nail would cost more. Sub par job too, very very thin and not smooth. I won’t be coming back. I’ll travel to see my normal nail tech who does amazing and intricate designs for the same price, is more gentle, cleaner salon and more friendly. The set on the left is my normal tech vs opal stone on the right….almost the same price.
