Luke Bailey Note this is an active rail yard and not open to the public. Awesome bits of heritage trains which are preserved by a dedicated group of volunteers who give up countless hours to ensure that they still operate all around Melbourne and the state.

Martin Ruse I went on a stream train to Ballarat & back, it is awesome as all kids loved it. My partner & I went yesterday with our 2 kids to the opening day which we enjoyed except right at the end where we left with 2 crying kids. We understood that the steam trains have whistles & are a little loud but there is a horn above doors 10 & 11 that went off 3 times in a row that not only scared us but most people around us. Another thing is the cannon that they fired for no other reason but to add entertainment to something it has nothing related to steam trains. When we complained to management, Lionel very rudely said "There are signs up saying how loud things are" but wasnt a sign at all when we looked plus he was rude to a co-worker by telling her to go back to her train after she was trying to console my son. On a finishing note we had a good day but it was just not wheelchair & pram friendly also needs a bit more rides but an awesome day out.

Rebecca White Well, I’ve never been there before, but I have a fascination for steam locomotives, believing that if you’re kind towards a steam locomotive, she’ll want to be your friend. I’m in the camp that believes that a steam locomotive can make a great friend for a railfan. God bless Steamrail Victoria! Quite obviously a great tourist attraction! Railfans, welcome to steam paradise!

Ronald Rossiter One of, if not THE best heritage rail experience money can buy. For an extraordinarily low cost, you and your family can go on trips they will form lifelong memories of a time where not every single train looked the same, where one day you are on shuttles between popular suburban hotspots, and the next, you could be on a weekend trip across the state, and on yet another day, you could be riding at high speed through the Latrobe Valley on the near world famous Snow Train. As of when this review is written, the author had their first trip with this amazing group, and it was nothing short of spectacular! Update: the author has now been to the bi-yearly open day, and has enjoyed Steamrails hospitality even more. An already spectacular group is now unparalleled.

Rakiza Hussein This place is gorgeous! And there are always volunteers hard at work making sure its clean! Its a great place for nature walks/runs. Unfortunately, we often see dog poop in the reserve (smack bang in the middle of the rock crossing) - so please if you are visiting kindly follow the rules of the park. There is a off-leash dog area, however dogs are not allowed in the reserve and please take your rubbish with you, considering the harm it could do to the thriving wildlife there.

Victoria Lovely park in the middle of a busy city. Its not very big but it feels you are in the middle of the bush. Nice for a walk. Cannot take dogs. Playground nearby. Toilets are unisex and lots of male workers in the area utilise them, so I chose not to use them..

Victor Duong Great hidden natural reserve in the middle of Newport. Great place for a walk that is not a long hike.

Tom Ferguson Beautiful place to be. Wonderful atmosphere and wildlife. Would recommend for a serene and calm environment for walks. Bikes not allowed so would not recommend riding here. Stone bridge is incredibly calming and enjoyable. Beautiful mosaics found all over the shop which as an art enjoyer were incredible to see.

Jessica Lee Great museum, really good amount of information presented in easily readable forms. Easy to understand. We spent a couple of hours here and went to the opening of certain carriages that require volunteers present. Concession discounts available. street parking out front, toilets inside. I encourage donations if financial able. They’re in the process of restoring some locomotives which could be exposed to the elements so it would be great to extend the roof area more.

Shasheeka Samaraweera This is one of the best spots for train lovers to experience a glimpse of the steam eras history. It has a great collection of historic locomotives. Open only on Saturday from 12 pm to 5 pm. The volunteers are very friendly and passionate about providing great insights.

Leo Chen As a train lover this is the best place to see past trains and admire them for the name of history. By that I just mean the place is awsome.

Kelly Granland Had my son’s 6th birthday on the mita mita today after visiting a few times in the past. All i can say is what a fantastic experience. The employees and volunteers are the best. They made my son feel so special and the guest’s very welcome. To hire the train carriage is so well priced and so is entry for the guests. Even if you arent having a party it is worth the vist. There are so many trains to look at and climb on. 10/10.

Debi Slinger Beautiful reserve that holds part of the marine life together. Walk the trails and explore the marine and bird life here. Found this as a little sanctuary where I could come and meditate. Good parking. Toilets nearby. No dogs allowed. No food here.

William Tuten Beautiful patch of natural area. They seem to be doing a lot of work to restore the native vegetation

Amimah Amit Lovely quiet spot with stony beachfront for kids to find small sea critters like muscles, barnacles and baby crabs. Its also near a playground. Theres plentiful of baby fishes you can spot in the waters close up....where theres baby fishes, therell be adult fishes that can be caught. People seems to fish across the cove, near where the container ships docked.

Mark Aidan Quite a surprise to stumble across. You walk along a narrow strip of land on a dirt / stone track. Native vegetation and then water on both sides oĺ the pathway. Some good views and quite a pleasant walk. I entered close to the boat ramp but there was another sign more open the strand side which was closed for works at May 2019.
