1 /5 susil lamichhane: WORST INSURANCE EXPERIENCE EVER! After nearly two years of paying for coverage, the first time I actually needed AAMI was when a random driver hit my parked car and fled the scene. I managed to get the car’s registration number and even handed the fault and evidence to the police. Despite this, AAMI refused to help me obtain the driver’s details. To make things worse, I was forced to pay an excess for an incident that was clearly not my fault, and I wasn’t offered any replacement car either. The customer service was absolutely appalling unhelpful, slow, and dismissive. Thank you, AAMI, for being the worst insurance provider I’ve ever dealt with. Never again.

1 /5 James McKay: This review IS NOT about AAMI at the noted address (I had no say on this) and this review is about CONTACTABILITY of AAMI. I would have been overseas when my car insurance needed renewing so I thought I’d do it early-bad decision! I tried on 3 different occasions to contact ANYONE who was alive to seek assistance. I spoke with robots or bots, chats which had different bots, a telephone bot who would not wait for me to answer and always interrupted. All in all it was a most unpleasant experience. I finally managed to speak with a lady who was helpful in solving my problems but I cannot recommend AAMI for their service; at least getting to someone in the service division. That is the problem; getting to actually speak with a human. I will now have to seriously reconsider whether I stay with them next year.

1 /5 amit sandhu: Very fake company they are not settling the claim . They are all about the take customer money as in form of permium . I m chasing them from last 5 months not settled claim till yet . Their officer (dale ). Taking so long and asking questions about personal life . They all want to take money not covering you . So please don’t take this insurance

1 /5 Bree Edwards: Have had a terrible experience with my recent claim. I contacted AAMI at every step of this claim for an accident I wasn’t at fault for and they were less than helpful every time and overall the experience was ridiculous Repairs were delayed by weeks and each time they would tell me “it’ll be done by this date - we will make sure it’s done by this date” only to text me after hours to tell me it’s been delayed again. I had advised them I would be away after the expected finish time so if it was delayed any further i wouldn’t be able to pick the car up and I would personally be without a car once I got back as they were closed for the weekend. They promised it would be done before I went away so I wasn’t going to be without a car but they delayed it again until while I was away at which time AAMI decided they would start charging me if everything wasn’t finalised within 24 hours of my completed repairs (which was impossible since I was not in Melbourne) i have since also gotten my car back and repairs were not completed to satisfaction. The back panel is still popped out, paint has bubbles in it and a roadworthy required light in the back is out, which I had paid to replace just a week or two before the accident. I can’t even take my car back in to get fixed as I can’t trust they won’t keep my car for days or weeks. AAMI won’t do anything to help with this situation except book me in to the SAME repairer to get it “reassessed” Was given a hire car through insuranxce. The hire car got a flat tire and I was told the car would be covered under my insurance policy’s roadside assist (it wasn’t) and so I called Hertz roadside assist. Was advised there would be NO call out fee but when I returned the car, I was forced to pay nearly $200 in call out fees despite being advised that there was none. They have refused to refund this and AAMI have refused to reimburse me for this. I was also made to return the hire car before my car was completed as I was going out of the state and the return had to be made “24 hours after repairs are completed” and even though repairs were delayed until I was out of the state (which was beyond my control) they expected me to return the car prior to me going away which left me without a car and $200 short in their call out fee (which I was told I didn’t need to pay) On top of this my insurance monthly cost has also been increased

1 /5 Kudzi Gwini: AAMI took my car to Backet Panels in Moorabbin. These people hold your car for weeks and weeks giving funny excuses. I have a policy with AAMI. As always AAMI says they choose their preferred repairer. My car had 4 things that needed to be done. replace the drivers window, polish the door, replace the left back tail light and fog light. They said they need 5 weeks to do that i said it was impossible for that to take 5 weeks AAMI assessing team convinced me that it was just an estimate the repairs will be sooner. A day before i was supposed to pick up the car they sent a text message saying they needed another 17 days. when i called AAMI to enquire what was going on they told AAMI that there is body work that needs to be done on the car and they had stripped the car it is not drivable, but when i went to identify all the damages with the guy from Backet panels after their assessment there was no body damage or mechanical damage on the car it was just those 4 things that needed to be replaced. My car has a tracker and I know when the engine has started and where it is. For the 5 weeks my car was parked in a warehouse a street away from Backet panels. 4 days before my pick up date that is when it was moved for them to start repairs. From my conclusion there is some doggy business being done here. Its either they keep cars for along time for them to claim more I am not sure thats for AAMI to find out. I am not going to talk about the outrageous quotation they submitted on repairs. If i was a manager at AAMI i would really look into this. Because after my experience they have lost a client and i will make sure more people are aware. AAMI needs to be more aware of the conduct of their repairers. They force us to take cars to their repairer but their never follow up on the work they do.
