1 /5 Phillip Voglis: I played in the senior domestic men’s basketball comp, so this review is only in relation to the courts and the association that runs there, not any other parts of the facility.
Referees constantly asked players for game balls instead of using the stadium’s own (cost cutting measure maybe?). We even had refs take our ball without asking, so we had to actually start hiding them before the games started.
Got hit from behind one game and somehow I got reported for 10 weeks, this was reduced all the way down to a bond after the tribunal finally reviewed footage (which they only check during the hearing, not before). Because they didn’t review it sooner, I was still forced to miss a week because they literally couldnt attend the original date that they had set for the tribunal themselves.
They also have strange rules — one night we were short multiple players and grabbed a mate who’d played the previous game. The ref supervisor literally stopped the game mid-play to remove him because apparently you “can’t play more than one game per night", this brought us back down to four players which is basically the bare minimum before its a forced walk-over.
No bench techs either. We had multiple games where opposition supporters were swearing or yelling abuse, and I brought the issue up multiple times with the different refs and each time they said they couldn’t do anything about it.
Overall, pretty disorganised and definitely not the best place to play for local senior domestic mens comps. I’d recommend finding another stadium if you have the option.
