1 /5 George Shehata: I recently needed 2 front tyres replaced on one of my cars and upon dropping off my car at the tyre shop, they advised me the locknut key is threaded and cannot remove the locknut and they advised me to attend Ferntree Gully Holden who have all the factory locknut keys and they will be able to remove the locknut for me.
I phoned up Ferntree Gully Holden Friday afternoon and they requested for me to attend on Monday and they will match up the correct key to my locknut and remove it for me
I attended Ferntree Gully Holden this afternoon and after waiting 10 minutes for someone to acknowledge me, I was approached by Jeff (Geoff?). Upon explaining the situation to Jeff, he was incredibly rude and reluctant to assist and he asked me where I’m getting my tyres replaced and I advised him where, he asked me why they can’t remove the locknut themselves, I told him they advised me to come to Ferntree Gully Holden and his response was “if you’re coming to us for help but you’re not getting your tires done with us you can take your business elsewhere”
There was about to be a massive confrontation with Jeff regarding his attitude and lack of willingness to do his job and offer any kind of assistance, but luckily for him he reluctantly and begrudgingly phoned up the tyre department after muttering ‘everyone’s away on lunch and won’t answer’. Youssef answered and came to inspect the locknut 5 minutes later so I’m not sure how true that was, but regardless, I did take my business elsewhere and I happily got the locknuts removed and my tyres replaced this afternoon at a business only a few doors up without any inconvenience or rudeness.
As someone who owns 3 businesses, I can tell you right now, Jeff wouldn’t even last 5 minutes in a customer service position in any of my businesses. It’s clear that Ferntree Gully Holden has no interest in genuinely assisting their customers, only in forcing people into their own services through intimidation and refusal to help. Jeff’s unprofessionalism and outright hostility was completely unacceptable, and if this is the standard they allow, I would strongly recommend anyone needing assistance take their business elsewhere. Preferably to a place that doesn’t treat potential customers like an inconvenience. Absolute disgrace.
