5 /5 Hugh Hunter: I’m a long-distance runner, and most of my fitness routine has always revolved around endurance training. I do realise though that incorporating cardio and core work into my training makes a huge difference, and it gives me the strength and fitness base to push harder and find that extra kick during races.
When I saw Rare Breed advertised, I decided to try their one-week introductory program. The introductory programme cost little more than a cup of coffee a day, so I thought, why not? From the very first class, I was impressed by both the sessions and the trainers. The training combines full-body conditioning techniques used by boxers, delivering a really good workout for both the upper and lower body and at the same time focussing on building core strength.
What stands out for me is the variety of classes and the Rare Breed team. Every session is led by skilled trainers who make sure I’m working safely whilst encouraging and ensuring that I am getting the most out of each workout. Probably the best endorsement I can give is that by the third day of my trial, I converted to a full membership.
Since joining Rare Breed, I’ve noticed my overall fitness improve significantly, and as expected from cardio and core work, it is having a positive effect on my running performance.
