1 /5 Ashley Keung: I had a very disappointing and unprofessional experience with this PT. From the beginning, the terms and conditions were never explained clearly, and communication was vague and misleading. During one of the sessions, he insisted that I perform exercises I was not comfortable with — specifically deadlifts — even after I clearly rejected them. This led to immediate pain and ultimately aggravated my L4/L5 injury again.
I informed him right after the class that I was in pain. He insisted that I come in the next day for a “rehab-focused session” to fix my back. When he explained that the rehab would only include cat–cow and superman movements, it was clear this was not an appropriate or professional approach for a lower back injury. I was already in significant pain, so I told him the night before that I would not attend. Despite that, he still tried to label it as a last-minute cancellation.
Instead of taking responsibility or discussing how his careless exercise choices contributed to my injury, he simply told me to “contact the gym” — completely avoiding accountability.
Because of his insistence on unsafe exercises and lack of proper injury management, I ended up needing a chiropractor and several myotherapy sessions just to walk normally again. Even after a week of rest, he never followed up or asked about my condition.
During the two-week pause of my membership while I was on holiday, I continued to feel sore and realised it was best to cancel altogether. When I returned, he asked me to sign a cancellation form without explaining what the “last payment” meant, and then claimed I hadn’t rescheduled my previous session — fully knowing I was injured and unable to attend. As a result, he charged me again, despite knowing I could not use the session.
Overall, the entire experience felt careless, unprofessional, and lacking basic duty of care. I cannot recommend this PT due to the poor communication, refusal to listen to client concerns, avoidance of responsibility, and the harm caused to my health.
