Black Powder Mill

Shannon Meilak Very interesting. I went on the open day, so I could see inside the building and watch the mill and motor in action. I would highly reccomend going to the next open day and signing up as a member of the Sunshine Historical Society: https://www.sunshinehistoricalsociety.org.au/on-line-membership-form

Jawbone Flora and Fauna Reserve

Alexandros Karvounis Its a lovely place to go for a stroll and enjoy the views of the wetlands. Theres a bay trail for cyclists and walkers and multiple benches around. Theres also a playground for the kids and lots of native plantings. Its certainly worth a visit!

Kevin Flint Reserve

kareem khattab It is a great place where you want to wind down and have a walk enjoying the scenery, the ducks and people around. If you have a kid, your kid will love the playground there and if you want to unleash your dog there is a special area for that too. It is pretty good.

Statue of David

Harefield Crescent Reserve

Nicholas I think (according to the Internet and similar search results) its named for that area in London called Harefield where the planes also fly sort of low enough near their Heathrow Airport, where-as here however them planes fly heading to/or from in the near distance Tullamarine and then finally onto Melbourne Airport (Tullamarine). You can see planes in the distance. Quiet area, apart from large planes every now and then in the sky can be heard or birds hear. Or the sound of wind-breeze or wind-gust. Nice enough to walk past given the local gum trees and other plants, too old for the playground so I dont partake, besides I may use the basketball court in future but anyways, very wide and open space, hopefully no snakes or anything in warmer months. Reminds me of Covid-era walks and so on. Ahh, memories. Anyways.

Cheetham Wetlands Observation Tower

Jamie Sciban Even on a windy morning this is an interesting view. The walk to wetlands is a welcome sight past the suburban area. Melbourne city in the distance and the bird song of the local Maggies

Point Gellibrand Coastal Heritage Park (Parks Victoria)

Sean Nairn Large parkland area adjoining the headland walk around the Williamstown shoreline. Consists mainly of grassy expanses, there’s also a kid’s playground and a number of historical sites relating to the area’s former use as a naval base and dockyard. Nice spot for a walk - easy to do a loop of the point from the main centre of Williamstown.

Selwyn Park

SS Fantastic park with everything you need. 3 separate playgrounds for all ages. Exercise setup spread across the ground. Tennis courts and a good size field. Nice shared footpaths for bicycles, scooters, jog/walk. Only one pair of writing BBQ. Connected to kororoit creek swimming pool. Well maintained and good level of parking.

More Park

Kristen Nicholls Used to live near here and it’s one of the main things I miss about the area. As a PokĆ©mon GO player, this place is awesome to play. I’d walk here almost daily. Also loved taking photos here. It always felt like a little bit of nature in amongst the suburbs.
