1 /5 Jihyeong Lee: I went to the dentist for scaling and discovered a slight crack in my right molar. Although it seemed fine at first, the dentist advised me to come back for a filling if it started to feel uncomfortable. Deciding to be proactive, I returned for the filling. However, a different dentist recommended a crown instead. When I asked about the difference, they mentioned that the longevity was about 10 years for a crown and 7 years for a filling, implying they were similar. Considering the cost difference, I opted for the filling, planning to get a crown later if needed.
After the filling, my tooth was sensitive and I couldnt chew on that side. Despite several visits to the dentist and being told to wait, the pain persisted. The dentist suggested that I might be grinding my teeth at night, which I denied. My gold tooth, which has been there for 19 years, has minor scratches, which seems normal to me. However, instead of addressing the initial treatment issue, they insinuated that it was my fault.
While the staff was friendly, the unprofessional treatment and handling of the situation have been disappointing. I will not recommend this practice to anyone I know. They have now referred me to a specialist, recommending a crown. If I had known this from the beginning, I would have opted for the crown right away. After over a month of tooth pain, I am extremely dissatisfied with their service.
