Warringal Parklands

Julie Beautiful place to relax and enjoy the greenery. Perfectly situated in central Heidelberg.

Darling Gardens

Andrew Guy Darling Gardens is a very scenic and reasonably quiet park. Its a great spot for meeting because it is on several bus lines and is a stones throw from Clifton Hill station, and another stones throw from the tram lines on Queens Parade. It has a nice playground area. The only drawback is that the public toilets are quite far from the playground. But once that is surmounted it is a great place for a family get-together. Remember to bring your own tables and chairs.

Willsmere Park

Mary Licata We had a lovely time at the veggie garden with friends and family. This part of the park is a wide open space where the kids can run and play. Beautiful view of the city.

T H Westfield Reserve

Peter Campbell Nice park with large open green space next to Merri Creek. Large open roofed building good for barbecues and picnics. Their is a narrow sealed shared trail through it that bikes and pedestrians can use but its poorly marked. Off lead area for dogs.

Grey Headed Flying Fox Habitat

Nurcihan Körpe There were literally thousands of flying foxes covering the trees. Every tree in the forest was packed with them, hanging in clusters and making constant noise. It was the first time I had ever seen so many in one place. I also spotted a huge spider for the first time, which made the whole experience even more surreal.

All Nations Park

Emily Chandler A seriously underrated spot, All Nations Park should be on your list for your next picnic in the inner north. The park has ample shade for hot days, and plenty of soft grassy spots for a picnic blanket. The lookout boasts some pretty nice views of the city skyline; and the parklands are big enough for a satisfying afternoon stroll. Being right next to Northcote Plaza, and high street, means you’re a stones throw from ample facilities, parking, and picnic supplies. Don’t forget to check the leafy walkways near the basketball courts if you’re after a picnic spot, either!

Penders Park

Jimmy K Good evening to everyone except the people who feel the need to drive into Penders Park, very frequently. Wether theyre expectant mothers, or young people who have some other excuse, fact is they do not work for the local council, and while this unlawful, they are placing people of all ages at risk. There are children running around at busy times and aging people with specific needs. Please be respectful & mindful of this.

Hyde Park

Chris Sciberras Great playground. No toilets here though, so if your four year old comes running toward you demanding to poo, think fast. Again, great playground.
