Secret Fishing Spot

Greensborough War Memorial Park

Sean Otto Nice park. Dog friendly. Public toilets. Canteen available but possibly only when a game is playing. No kids playground. Few nice statues around to have a look. Cricket batting cages and pitch in the middle of the football oval.

Quarry Hills Park

tanveer brar Followed gps but main gate is closed. So, had to go around the back street to access the park. Beautiful walk with nice lookout. Was lucky to spot some kangaroos, butterflies, and echidnas. Overall was a good experience!

cool fountain

MysticalGoonBag Okay so um... I went to this place called Cool Fountain?? And like... at first I was like “oh wow, this is—this is actually kinda nice??” The water was doing that soft trickle thing and the whole vibe was like, super chill. Very Instagrammable. But then… I—I noticed these, like... dead birds? Just... there. Not one, not two, but like enough to make me go “uhhh, is this normal???” I dunno, maybe I’m overthinking it, but it was lowkey creepy. Like the fountain’s cursed or something?? Pretty... but cursed. I still can’t stop thinking about it. Would I go back? Uh... maybe. I mean, it was kinda pretty... but also I’m scared?? 10/10 weird little core memory unlocked.

Janefield Wetlands

Anne Hamilton Peaceful spot to enjoy this small wetland area, many different birds call this wetland home. Not much shade, bring a hat, short loop walk but the adventurous can explore further down into Plenty Gorge area.

Diamond Creek Trail (south end)

Jade Rosina McCutcheon Just my favourite walk ever. Seems to go for 4 or 5 klms. I came across it by accident, being new to Ballarat. Its just like taking a comfortable bush walk. No huge inclines or steps. Wide path, you can take your dog on a leash and bicycle along it as well. A very healing, relaxing thing to do.

Nangak Tamboree Wildlife Sanctuary

Jesse Birch Love this place, a little wild sanctuary in the suburbs! Great to see emus, kangaroos, and a wealth of other wildlife... we even saw a powerful owl one day! Highly recommended for any lovers of nature, thanks to all staff for their dedication and upkeep ♥️

Jells Park

Dinesh Chaudhary Jells Park is a fantastic place to unwind—plenty of space for running, walking, and just being in nature. Lots of play areas for kids too, so it’s perfect for families. There’s a café onsite, which is handy for grabbing a coffee, though the coffee itself could be better—but hey, at least there’s an option!
