Sherbrooke Falls

CHO JUNGYEON It was a nice place to go for walking. Little steep to go uphill. I brought a 4-year-old girl. She was fine with that. However, Creek wasnt as big as we expected.

Yarrabing Wetlands Reserve

Lyndon Voigt Just off to the side of part of the Dandenong creek trail, it is a nice little piece of bush separate from the hustle and bustle of the shared bike/walking track.

SkyHigh Maze

Brandon Hill Look we enjoyed it. If you have young kids, this is quite fun. I thought the price was reasonable, and kids loved it. Adults would be happy to see kids being happy. I would recommend it.

William Ricketts Sanctuary

Muhammad Altaf Excellent place to visit. Great art work by William and very well preserved. A beautiful walk while seeing and praising his art work. They have set up to play movie / documentary about his life, his aspirations and his work. His love for nature and his passion for art is very clear in his work. Its a great place to visit and feel refreshed. If you love art and nature then this is a place to go. There is a cafe across the road and also few other places around to look.

Kokoda Track Memorial Walk

Pat Chung A principal focus of the Kokoda Track Memorial Walkway is on the sacrifices made by the Australian soldiers during key battles which took place in 1942-43 along the Kokoda Track and other locations in Papua New Guinea. The Kokoda Track is a place of historical significance. Trekking the trail in Dandenong, including challenging the 1000 steps, is not just for doing exercises but also to remember and pay tribute to the soldiers who fought in the Kokoda Track in Papua New Guinea during World War II. Obviously, the 1000 steps is the focus of Kokoda Track Memorial Walk. It gives us a chance to experience the endurance of Australian soldiers who fought against Japanese in a very challenging jungle terrain of the Kokoda Track in Papua New Guinea. The campaign was a crucial point in stopping the Japanese advance towards Australia, so why it was so important and why this Memorial Walk was established to commemorate the battle. I reckon this is a very meaningful trek that offers good education to our next generation to know the historical background of one of the significant battles in World War II. As this 1000 steps is a challenge, so its really quite hard to finish. With some rest, I think 45 to 50 minutes is enough to go uphill of the 1000 steps (only one way allowed to go uphill). After arrived to the finish point of 1000 steps, there is nothing to see. You can return to the start point by going downhill from another road which is quite long, needs at least 35 to 40 minutes walking. There are car park spaces, education centre, toilets, BBQ stove, shelters, kids playground and a decent Cafe for buying breakfast / lunch / coffee. What a nice park indeed!

Marie Wallace Bayswater Park

Chris Foster-Ramsay A great place for families. Young and old. Lots of open space and a great place that’s safe for kids to ride their bikes and experience the outdoors. On busy days byo camping chairs are advisable. But lots of open space and shade to spread yourselves out. Well thought out park design with lots of touch, feel and life experiences to offer. BYO snacks too.
