1 /5 Nithiya Sebastian: I ve been a loyal customer of this salon for the past five years and have always received excellent service — until today. Unfortunately, I had the most disappointing and distressing experience I’ve ever had when getting waxing done.
I’ve had waxing done countless times before, so I know what to expect in terms of pain and process. But the person assigned to me today was incredibly unprofessional and rough. As someone with loose skin, a little care and technique — like holding the skin taut — would have made the process smoother and less painful. Instead, she kept waxing without any consideration, making the experience far more painful than it should have been. She wore multiple bangles on her hands, which added to the discomfort which at times scraped against my skin. I didnt complain about that as I thought it was a religious thing or something and I didnt want to be rude.
What made things even worse was her complete lack of effort. She remained seated in her chair the entire time, never once standing to properly position herself. Instead, she pushed and pulled my body around to adjust for the waxing. At one point, I literally had to hold onto the wall to keep myself from falling off the bed. It was uncomfortable, awkward, and completely unprofessional.
When she finished, she applied oil without even checking the results. When I looked, there was hair left everywhere — clearly visible. At first, she dismissed it, claiming it was just ingrown hair, but when I kept pointing out the missed spots, she finally admitted the job hadn’t been done properly. Even then, she said there was nothing she could do because of the oil — something that could’ve been avoided had she checked her work first.
My skin was red and sore from all the unnecessary pulling, and when I mentioned this, she told me this was just how waxing feels. I know the normal level of waxing discomfort — this was far beyond that. When I calmly asked why she applied oil without checking, instead of taking responsibility, she accused me of being "hyper." This response was not only dismissive but deeply hurtful.
Even when I made it clear I didn’t want any further services, she finally suggested using powder and trying again — something she could’ve offered earlier instead of blaming me. But by that point, I was so shaken and upset that I couldn’t continue.
When I went to pay, another staff member was kind enough to listen, apologize, and even offer to fix the situation. I truly appreciated their compassion — but by then, I was in tears and physically shaking, so I just needed to leave.
This was an incredibly humiliating and painful experience. I’ve never been treated so rudely, and the lack of professionalism and empathy from this particular staff member was unacceptable. I sincerely hope the salon addresses this issue because it’s a place I’ve trusted for years, and it’s disappointing to have an experience like this overshadow so many positive ones.
