1 /5 Kate Sleath: Terrible, I wont be going back. The girl didnt speak to me the whole time, only speaking to her friends. She dug her false nails into me while doing my shellac and also got shellac on my skin several times. It was not an enjoyable experience for $40. I also had nearly a full card of stamps but they wouldnt stamp it as they claim to have a new owner with a new company called Coco Nails (despite having Tips and Toes posters up inside). Avoid if possible.

1 /5 Prue Miller: Worst experince I’ve ever had in a nail salon. None of the equipment is sterilised. The pedicure was rushed and I was cut multiple times. The acetone was left on my toes for an hour which started to burn. Quality was poor just in attempt to get as many people through the door. The technician continued to put the equipment on the floor which I also pointed out was unhygienic. I was so angry I put my shoes on and walked out. I explained my deep dispointment for a horrendous experince and all I got back was negotiation of payment. Absolutely terrible. There are many nail salons in the area I would recommend avoiding this one.

1 /5 Marisa Harris: Do NOT get your eyelashes done here! We were visiting Melbourne from the UK for a friends wedding and I thought it would be nice to have temporary eyelash extensions so they looked good for the photos. After waiting some time in the back room, the girl/lady came in to begin. I had had extensions done once before so I semi knew the uncomfortable parts of the process etc such as when they tuck the tissue/cloth/material (?) under your lid to ensure that none of the glue gets into your eye. This part wasnt too bad however she obviously had not done it properly as during the treatment I could feel the liquid seeping into my eyes at points. Obviously concerned, I asked the girl whether everything was alright and told her my eyes were a little sore. She reassured me and said it was all fine. Following this, it seemed to get better so I guess she became more careful? Anyhow, the procedure seemed to go on for quite some time and she kept shouting back to her colleagues in the main salon throughout. Im really not the sort of person who cares about this sort of thing usually, however its not the most comfortable situation when the person shouting is literally above your head and over your face. All in all, the experience wasnt very comfortable and the lashes lasted two - three days. She hadnt secured the glue from the extension to the eyelashes well at all and I was left with large clumps of hard stuff which just irritated me and a lot of my lashes were damaged after the extensions fell off. Also, just to mention, I had my gel powder manicure done prior to the lashes and the girl assured me the powder she was using was not acrylic. Although the label on the powder pot read acrylic. Basically, I would advise you avoid this place. Especially as there are so many other places which Im sure must be better in South Yarra.

Toenails smugged as I went to get finger nails done (could potentially have been my fault but still) and I asked her to fix it... she put a tiny bit of nail varnish on the nail but didnt even bother wiping away the varnish on my skin....it would have taken about 2 seconds! For $70 for a shellac mani and pedicure I expect more! Far better places around Toorak road to go to!

1 /5 Rhian Godwin: So poor! I wish I could do a zero star. Wished I had of gone to my usual place (Happy Nails) but went for the easiest option next to the place I had grabbed a spray tan. Abismal choice of Shellac choices bizarrely taped on to a board - so you cant really see them against your skin tone. Manicure was rough - the lady was rude and handling my nails incredibly poorly. Jamming my hands impatiently into the UV lights and twisting my fingers to paint although that clearly didnt help, the edges are all crooked and theres shellac over my cuticles. The must alter their products as 6 layers later (I had a nude pink) and Im left with bumpy, thick, patchy uneven nails which at $40 are the most expensive and worst Ive ever had. Do yourself a favour and go to Happy Nail nearby or even elsewhere on Chapel.
